San Diego ZooNewest Review: ... around the zoo. I would strongly recommend getting on the top floor of the double decker bus for a better view. This bus is not only a quick way to get round the zoo but also there is guide on board who points out the areas of interest and gives intersting facts about the animals you can see. The zoo transport system is simply excellant, with constant cable cars and buses every few minutes. Also this transport does not at all ruin it for those who walk round the zoo as the routes for pedestrians and the buses are different. I visited San Diego zoo this summer and I must say It is in my opinion the best zoo I have been to, maybe the best zoo in the world. For starters its massive, but don't let that put you off as the zoo has its own internal transport system. This incudes a cable car, which you must pay for (a couple of dollars) from one end to the other of the zoo. I would strongly advise this for at least a one way trip. It takes you high right over the centre of the zoo from which you get an excellant view of the animals and their environment from above The other transport which is free is a guiding bus tour around the zoo.
