Advantages: seeing sharks and manaties

Disadvantages: not as big as I thought it would be

This was one of my activities from last weeks ozintro.

Im not sure how much it costs to get in as it was included in the cost. However when we went there was no queue and we walked straight in.

The way we got there was to get a ferry from circular quay to darling harbour. You arrive right outside the aquarium, and you get to go under the bridge and get a view of the opera house from the ferry.

The aquarium has so many fish of all sizes. You walk through the smaller tanks, past the alligator, who I have to say didnt look too happy with his tiny enclosure under all the lights and people taking photos of him.

The best part are the tunnels where you can walk through. There are 2 large tanks where you can do this. I loved the manaties that were like sea cows. They floated around taking food from the aquarium staff. You can walk around the tunnels and they swim over you and come right up to the glass. I also like the huge turtles that looked very old and wise.

In the other tunnel you can see sharks right up close. I cant believe how scary their teeth look! They go right up over your head. There were divers in this pool as well, they kept their hands tucked right in!

I loved the aquarium, I think its a good way to spend a few hours for any age. Its very calming and they play cool music in different sections to match what type of fish are there. Look out for the nemo and dorrey fish as well.

One tip, dont buy anything from the cafe its a complete rip off, walk to the right to a restaurant that has a full meal for 10dollars and cheap drinks.

Summary: Still worth a visit
