Terra Mitica ... Spain. The park is divided into 5 themed zones; Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia (Old zone of Spain and Portugal) and the Islands (of Greece). In 2000 when the park opened its doors, Paramount bought most of the shares in Terra Mitica and so then the park was branded as Paramount Parks Terra Mitica. In 2004 after Paramount Parks decided to drop its shares they had in Terra Mitica, Comunitat Valenciana took over the park and overseen the developments of other rides and will oversee future plans ahead.

Terra Mitica ("Mythical Land" in Spanish) is a theme park in Benidorm on the Costa Blanca, Spain. It has a couple of main rides/attractions but don't go expecting anything really big. Both the rollercoasters, the wooden one and the steel one) are jolty and the wooden one especially is rickety. Queue times are moderately long(30-45mins) and especially at the height of summer can get quite very uncomfortable as a few places don't have shaded spots. There is also lots of shows and characters wandering round for photos. The souveneir shops are both large and sell a good range of items that don't look tacky at all, including t shirts and cuddly toys. ...  Read the complete review

Green Band System causes misery (309 words)

We have visited Terra Mitica on many occasions over the last few years. It is imaginative and the infrastructure is excellent. The rides are good and queues are not normally long, even in summer. There has always been a feeling that the place isn't busy enough to recoup the obviously enormous investment cost. However, this was good for visitors who didnt have to queue! I was not surprised to read in another review that the park nearly went bust a few years back. Our annual visit in 2009 was in August. Although the park was a fair bit busier, this didn't appear to be a problem. The public spaces weren't crowded and the restaurants were, as usual, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Terra Mitica: Fun can be expensive (439 words)

Terra Mitica is the fun park near the (quite ugly) resort of Benidorm, on the Spanish coast. To be more specific, the park is located close to Albir. You will not miss it. There are buses from Benidorm and some agencies also organize mini buses trips. Be aware that you will need to pay 5 euros to park your car! I last visited it 2 years ago, but I do not think that it has changed too much since then. The park is still very well advertized and as such it draws a good amount of tourists. The whole area is divided into "geographical areas" so you have the Greek one, the old Egyptian and so on. I am not too much a ...  Read the complete review

Terra Mitica is a theme park on the Costa Blanca near the famous tourist destination, Benidorm. I have been there a few times and have enjoyed my visits but I still don't think it's a very good park. It has some good attractions but you can't compare it to an American theme park at all and the quality of certain things like food and service isn't very good. It's also quite pricey to enter, so it's not the cheapest option. I would recommend aqualandia (the water park in Benidorm) over this theme park, as it's cheaper and just as good. Terra Mitica really is a theme park as there are different sections representing different continents. The rides are linked to ...  Read the complete review

~~~SO, WHAT WE DOING TODAY THEN?~~~ While I was at my parents' place in Benidorm this Easter we took a family trip to Terra Mitica, a theme park situated up in the mountains behind the busy resort. I visited six years ago and wanted to revisit for the thrills and to let my youngest daughter finally have a go on the rides she'd been too small for in 2003. ~~~GET THE MAP OUT~~~ It's fairly easy to get to by car, taxi or bus. We travelled from Albir on the N332 onto the CV70. The park is very well signed up. Cars cost 5 Euros for parking and there's a drop off point for taxis and buses. I believe there's a ...  Read the complete review
