Advantages: Kind of fun

Disadvantages: Expensive

Terra Mitica is the fun park near the (quite ugly) resort of Benidorm, on the Spanish coast. To be more specific, the park is located close to Albir. You will not miss it. There are buses from Benidorm and some agencies also organize mini buses trips. Be aware that you will need to pay 5 euros to park your car!

I last visited it 2 years ago, but I do not think that it has changed too much since then.

The park is still very well advertized and as such it draws a good amount of tourists.

The whole area is divided into "geographical areas" so you have the Greek one, the old Egyptian and so on.

I am not too much a fan of rides and may be also because of this I did not enjoy the whole experience too much. Probably the more famous ride is the wooden rollercoaster, which if you ask me, may collapse any time. However, I was reassured that it is really meant to be like that and while it gives the impression of being in poor health, it passed all the health and safety tests and bla bla. I did not go for that ride, but my friends with whom I was did and one of them was really dizzy at the end of it, and he was not the only one amongst those who came off the ride!

The ride I enjoyed the more is the one called "Ride of Argos" in the Greek section...be prepared to be VERY wet!

We had been told that you are not allowed to bring your food and not even your water in the park, surely this is for "safety" reasons (yes, I can see my sandwich causing mayhem) and as a result, on top of the high fee to get in (It was more than 30 Euros) you need to pay for food, and the queue was very long!
Talking about the entry ticket, you can pay less if you book in advance and there are also promotions being run from time to time in the national press for 2 for 1 tickets. If you have friends in Spain you may want to ask them to keep an eye for it.

Overall, I cannot say I would recommend it, I found it really expensive, but if money is not an issue and you are into this kind of things, you may enjoy it. Looking around at people some of them were really having a lot of fun!

Summary: Not for everyone and anyway, eat well before going there!
