Advantages: Supertivolino is good value. Caters for most.

Disadvantages: Won't be everyones cup of tea

Tivoli World is situated in Benalmadena which is Southern Spain, and about 18km from Malaga. I have been quite a few times and I have always enjoyed it. I have a son who is nearly four, and although he cannot go on everything, he can go on quite a few of the rides, he loves it as much as I do. The entrance fee is currently 7 euros, for anyone less than 1 meter in height entrance is free. Once inside you can pay individually for the rides by purchasing tokens, or you can buy a wristband known as a "Supertivolino" currently for 12 euros, this gives access to over 30 of the parks attractions, like any amusement park rides a re subject to certain height restriction in both minimum and maximum heights. There are other attractions that are not included in the Supertivolino which can add significantly to the price these are namely Go Karts, Passage of Terror and Bumper Boats, for these you can buy a "combi" ticket for 8 euros which allows 1 go on each of the above and is a good saving on individual prices for these attractions. There are also various offers for parties of 20 or more, which again give excellent savings.

The park has various opening & closing times depending on which time of the year you go, for instance in the peak summer times it is open between 6pm and 2am for weekends in June, and all of Juy and August, in other summer months and until middle of September it is 6pm until 1am. In the winter months it is only open at weekends from 12pm until 7pm. There are other times but as it can be quite complicated to explain I suggest checking out the website as there is an easy to follow table of opening times.

On Sundays there is also a Bric a Brac Market but having never been to this I can't give much information other than it is a Spanish version of a car boot sale and is 1 euro for entrance.

There are a few food and drink outlets which are not cheap but what you would really expect in theme parks. We actually ate out there once and were quite impressed with one of the restaurants.

As I said earlier I go a couple of times a year, and always go back, so no better recommendation than that, the rides do cater from very young to older people, and the shows, some of which are free are quite hit and miss in quality but always entertaining!!

My mother has breathing difficulties and as the park is on a hill she says she would struggle to get around it. I will mention if anyone else is thinking this, that there is a train by the entrance which is 1euro and included in Supertivolino, that goes to the top of the park and you can then walk down - there are plenty of benches to stop and sit down for a rest.

Overall I would say it compares more (in size) to theme parks like Gulliver's World and Camelot rather than bigger parks. I would also say don't expect it to be anything like Disney Land or you will be disappointed. The entrance fee should give you a clue to this, but I know of people whose expectations were way too big and they were disappointed. I would add that a Supertivolino is probably not worth purchasing if you plan to go on one or two rides or for a little one of say two or three years old unless they have an older sibling to take them on rides with a maximum height restriction. My son is nearly four and this year was the first time he got true value out of his Supertivolino.

Summary: A good alternative attraction especially for the evenings.
