Advantages: Lots to do but also a great place to relax with a good book while kids go off!!

Disadvantages: Crowds in the early afternoon.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water Park is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing day after the madness of the theme parks. We spent a fantastic day, under the shade of trees, basking by the lagoon. There are plenty of sun loungers and chairs to be had. The lazy river that circles the whole park is a great way to 'chill out'. Ques for water slides build up during the day. We were disappointed by the family white water rafting ride - GangPlank Falls. Having stood in line for 30 minutes, the ride was over in a couple of seconds and not too thrilling either! The other slides were worth the wait. The shipwrecked boat, Miss Tilly, that sits atop Mayday Mountain provides a stunning backdrop to the park. She shoots water from her funnel at regular intervals, accomapnied by the ships hooter which signal the 6ft wave in the surf pool. There are loads of life guards on duty looking after everyone's safety. Unlike the Disney Theme parks, there is no charge for parking, which is great.
TOP TIPS
Get to the park early to avoid the rush and get a good shady spot at the waters edge.
Make sure you take plenty of sun cream.
Buy a refillable drinks cup (about $10) this can be used all day for free refill from the refill stations around the park.
Lockers are avilable to store valuables. Most people seem to leave towels, shoes, books etc on their chairs and wander off.

Summary: A fun filled family attraction. Worth visiting.
