Disneys typhoon lagoon is my favourite of all the disney water parks. It has something for everyone there. Whether you like to just lie back and relax or for the more adventurous you will find something at Typhoon Lagoon that you will enjoy.

It is easy to get to from the disney hotels and the disney transportation centre. A free bus will drop you right outside the entrance and will pick you up in the same place when you come out. Admission to the park is free for children under 3. For adults it costs $43 and children $35 but if you have a disney hopper pass you will be able to use this. Grab a park map on your way into the park to find out where everything is.

Lockers are available for hire when you get into the park. They have small or large lockers available. The charge for a small locker is $5 plus a $2 deposit which you get back later when you return the key. The large locker cost $7 + $2 deposit. There are also life vests and towels available for use.

There are restrooms/toilets jotted around the park. A first aid room is situated at the front of the park.

Food and drinks can be brought from various places all over the park.
Leaning palms is a very popular one serving burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, pizza and salads. A variety of soft drinks are also available.
Happy landings serves a variety of ice cream
Typhoon Tilly serves sandwiches and salads
Lowtide Lou’s serves snacks of potato chips (crisps), pretzels and soft drinks.
Lets go slurpin serves frozen drinks and spirits
Surf Doggies serves hot dogs and turkey legs.
These can all get very busy at lunch times and finding a table to eat at is almost impossible. We found our selves having to stand for about 10 mins until there was space.

There is only one shop selling souvenirs in Typhoon lagoon. This is situated not far from the entrance and exit. Called Singapore Sal’s it is quite a large shop and it sells beachwear, gifts and
sundries.

This water park is suitable for people of all tastes. If you are the type who enjoys relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun, just grab yourself a lounger and you can sunbath on the silver sand beach next to the large lagoon. Or relax at ‘Out of the way Cay’ a sun-drenched beach getaway. There are plenty of free sun beds and chairs in these areas.

For those of you who enjoy the large water slides there are a number of these too. The biggest of these slides is called Humunga Kowabunga, this is three large slides all next to each other. There is a height restriction for this ride of 48 inches, if you are shorter that this you will have to grow a bit before you are able to ride. This ride is high and very fast, the slides each a long tube type slide, you come shooting out at the bottom and straight into the pools at the bottom. Next to these fast slides are some more Body Slides for which there are no restrictions. They are nowhere near as fast.

There are quite a few raft rides at typhoon lagoon. These are fun to go on. They are not very fast and are suitable for all ages. Grab yourself a raft as you wait in the que. Mayday falls and Keelhaul falls must be ridden on your own but Gang Plank falls is a family raft ride and you can fit up to 4 smallish people in the raft. There are also slide areas for very small children to enjoy as well.

If you are feeling brave you should head over to the shark reef where you can experience snorkelling with sharks in the salt water reef. I was not feeling that brave but I am sure that some of you would like this part of the park. Snorkel equipment can be hired from the Shark Reef Dive Shop which is situated next to the reef.

My favourite part of typhoon lagoon has to be the lazy river. This is a river that runs around the edge of the park and has 5 entrances and exits around it. All you have to do is get yourself a rubber ring, jumps in it and just lie back and f
loat around the river. There are a number of waterfalls around the river where you will get wet. Some of these the water is very cold and can come as a bit of a shock when you get soaked. Lying in these rings and floating around allows you to get a great suntan, but do remember to wear lots of waterproof sunscreen because you don’t want to burn. It takes about 10 - 15 minutes to completely float around the river. The exit points get very crowded and you can often get stuck here for a minute as people try to get out of the river and others struggle to get spare rings and get into them. Beware for people who choose to swim around the river.

The park is set around a large lagoon. This is known as Typhoon lagoon surf pool. Every few minutes a horn will sound and a large wave comes along. Signs around the pool tell people to be careful in this pool. Children should be supervised and if you are not a strong swimmer you will need to stay in the shallower areas. The waves are very strong in this pool and it does get very busy. There are a few seats around the edge on the wall, but once a wave comes is can easily still soak you up to your neck if sitting here.

A piece of advice from me is to take a pair of flip flops with you. I didn't and I found the paths and the sand can get very hot after the sun has been on them for a while.

This is a great water park with something there for everyone.
