Advantages: Lots of things to do

Disadvantages: Can be tiring

Islands of Adventure is better in my opinion than the actual Universal Studios park in Orlando, this park delivers more of a childish feeling to it but still houses some very impressive rides.

The park is divided into five (soon to be 6) areas that are all differently themed, (much like Disneyland).

Marvel Super Hero Land
This land is full of great rides and attractions and places to eat, it is themed and decorated with the Marvel Super Heros, including Spiderman, X men, Fanastic 4, Hulk and many more. There were some great rides in this land in the park and it was one of my favourite parts of the park (second to Toon Town). The rides in this land include The Incredible Hulk Coaster, this was a great and very large rollar coaster with lots of loops and inversions, it was similar in ways to the Kraken rollar coaster in Seaworld apart from the high speed launch at the start and this rollar coaster is not floorless. Another ride in this land is Doctor Dooms Fearfall, I wasnt really impressed with this ride, it simply raised you up in the air and then dropped you again and then the ride was over, the view from the top was nice though (for the short time you could see it). The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman however was one ride that I think was worth the queue time in this park, it is a 3d simulater where you come head to head with the villians from the Spiderman legacy including the green goblin, venom and many more.

Toon Lagoon
This was my favourite land in the Islands of Adventure park, it is decorated in the theme of some the cartoon charactors within the Universal company has lots of different fun water fountains all around it and has a really fun and silly atmosphere within it. Some of the rides in this part of the park include Popeye and Blutos Blidge-Rat Barges this is a water rafting ride where you travel through the water and get absolutley soaked with tunnels soaking you and water just basically going every direction its a great fun ride for anyone who doesnt mind a bit of a soaking. Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls is a log flume ride in this land also that great fun, you go through this ride trying to save the damsel in distress and in the end you save her and plunge down the final and drop and get a soaking, its a great fun themed ride.

Jurassic Park
This land in the park is based on the film and therefore is decorated with lots of dinosaurs and is great to visit for any Jurassic Park lover. The best ride in this land is the Jurassic Park River Adventure which is a river ride that brings you up close to some Dinosaurs from the movie and then into the danger zone where you come up close to a T-Rex and some other carnivorous dinosaurs before falling a large water drop to safety again. The Pteranodon Flyers are also a good ride within this land but be prepared to queue for over an hour at peak times to ride this ride, you sit on a seat that is decorated like a Pteranodon and then soar through Camp Jurassic.

The Lost Continent
This is a mythical and legendary themed land that includes some great lands and holds rides such as the Dueling Dragons which is two rollarcoasters, one red and one blue that race around two tracks that are beside eachother for alot of the time in a race to see which on is the fastest, this is a really fun high speed rollarcoaster with some loops and inversions. Another ride in this land is Poisidens Fury which is a walk through ride where you play the role as tourists (easy enough) that explore an ancient tomb and wake up Posiedons enemy and then there are some great special effects, a sword fight and a happy ending, and a really impressive water tunnel that you walk through, the only thing bad about this ride is that you have to walk and stand for the whole duration which is very long especially after a long queue time.

Seuss Landing
This land is dedicated to author Dr. Seuss and is decorated with charactors from his books including Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat decorations, this land is more for the kids in the family but as an adult I enjoyed some parts of it aswell. The rides in this land include The Cat in The Hat, this ride takes you through the story from the book the Cat in The Hat, you meet all the charactors including Thing 1 and Thing 2. One Fish Two FIsh Red Fish Blue Fish is another ride in this land that is a ride where you sit in one of the fish cars and then spin around in a circle and you can go as high or as low as you want which is great for the children who are afraid of heights.

There is also a Harry Potter land coming to Universal Islands of Adventure soon (around 2010) which is really exciting, the castle from the book is one of the attractions that I can not wait to visit, I think that this will be a very exciting and fun addition to the park.

Summary: Just as good as Disneyland... great entertainment
