Advantages: Vast range of thrilling rides, fantastic water rides

Disadvantages: Queing systems - but take note of my tip!

I admit it - i am a theme park junkie - the scarier the ride, the happer I am.

I have visited this park twice in recent years with my parents, brother and my partner. My mum, unlike me, does not enjoy scary rides at all. As Universal Studios is rather full of them we all purchased a Universal Express Plus pass. There are a limited number of passes available each day and they are often sold out in advance. The cost of the pass varies based on what parks are selected and even what day is selected, with higher prices charged on peak operating days during the year. The passes provide the user with the ability to skip right to the front of the queues. Perfect when one of you doesn't want to ride but doesn't want to be left alone for the 2 hour wait that can entail on the bigger rides.

The passes were also fantastic for water rides. Instead of the usual, go on, get soaked, dry off, go on another, get soaked... You could go on them all one after another meaning that you were only really wet the once.
Universal queues, as previously mentioned, are notoriously long and unlike Disney parks, the queues are not well sheltered meaning you the wait can get quite hot and uncomfortable.

The rides at this park include the incredible hulk coaster (my all time favourite), the amazing adventures of spider man (fun for all the family), doctor doom's freefall (not for the faint hearted), all of the water rides are fantastic but take note of my top above and duelling dragons (a fun coaster you'll want to ride twice)!

Again the selection of food and drink is typical of any theme park with a few restaurnats and lots of burgers, hot dogs and ice cream!

Autumn 2010 sees the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - as a huge fan of HP myself, we are planning going back for this when its opens. The 20-acre island will feature attractions, shops and restaurants set inside such locations as the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade Village and the iconic Hogwarts castle. Can't wait!!!!

Summary: An action packed theme park with something for everyone
