Advantages: Great family day out

Disadvantages: In the middle of nowhere and food is so expensive.

Alton Towers is a long way away from my home so i have too get up early (about 6). But it is worth the drive. I am 13 and hav been 7 times and I'm kind of getting bored of the rides. Although they are the best rides ever they are all not much thrill to me anymore. My favourite has too be oblivion, the first vertical drop ride in the world. I love the fealing of it when you go down the hole and the noise of the chain when you go up the climb. Once my family went on halloween and if you go to towers street in the evening there is a show on and lots of freaky people follow you around. the worst ride suited to my age and above is probably 'Air' (well to me). As i am a thrillseeker it is not very scary.

There is also a quite interesting, but weird story about the ride hex:
On a fateful, stormy night 100 years ago, the Earl of Shrewsbury refused to give money to an old beggar woman, and brought the fury of a gypsy curse upon his kin: whenever a branch fell from the enchanted oak tree near Alton Towers, a member of the family would die! After a lightning storm struck the tree, felling a branch, one of his relatives indeed dropped dead. Chaining the remaining branches to the tree could not defeat the evil. Now, deep in the Towers' chambers, the tree has been unearthed: the curse has returned, and the room is starting to move! Hex is a ride that will leave you spellbound.
(I copied and pasted this)

Good tip: when in the room with the lightning strikes before the ride it sometimes gets boring so start a game of bogies.!!!
(i didn't start one somebody else in there who i didn't know did, but my mate did join in!!!)

Me and my mates took our own lunch as the food costs more there than anywhere (just like the sideshows).

Summary: Overall the park is a great day out if you are with friends or family.

This was very enthusiastic, but it would be more helpful if you included factual information such as opening times and prices - you can get these from the Alton Towers website. Also tell us what you think are the best and worst rides!

I should think after 13 times, I would get a bit fed up too. Rachel X
