Advantages: Great rides and entertainment

Disadvantages: There can be long queues

Alton Towers is a Theme Park in Staffordshire in England. It's arguably the best theme park in the UK.

It's spread out over quite a large area and has lots of different rides of varying scariness. For the real thrill seekers there are rides like RITA, Air, Nemesis and Oblivion. As you'd expect they'll fling you around, upside down and all, at top speed. For the less adventurous there are slower rides, and other ones were you'll end up soaked. I like the cable cars that give you a great view of the lovely grounds and the 'Towers'.

The cost to get in to Alton Towers is £35 per adult with reductions for online or telephone bookings.

There a quite a few different eating options at the park, ranging from KFC, to hot dog stands.

It's not very accessible via public transport so I'd recommend you to drive there, though you will have t pay £4 in parking fees.

Summary: Fun day out
