Advantages: great rides great days

Disadvantages: lots of walking

Alton Towers has to be one of the best days out in the country. It has something for all members of the family at all different ages. Alton towers has to be the most reconized theme park in the country.

Getting there
Is pretty easy realy. Many coach companys run trips to alton towers as it is so well known and visited. Going by car its very easy. There are sign posts leading you to the park from all major motorways and from anywhere near by within about a 30 mile radas.

Once you are there you need to park, parking is easy to find at alton towers. there is loads of parking in the area and only cost's £4 for the whole day. However dont get your tickets/tokens from random blokes in the area. There are machines inside the buildings that you should get them from.

From the car park you can either walk down to the park or you can get onto the monorail and go down to the theme park itself.

Once you get off the monorail you need to pay to get in the park. There are many deals around to get in alton towers and should never realy have to pay full price for everyone in your group. We use clubcard points to knock the price down however this year we have used the free vochers on walkers crisps.

Once in the park you can do what ever you want. There are rides that range from the top range thrill rides to very mild children rides.

The history of the park is still there however as the towers still stand and you can still go around the towers and check them out. The gardens are still there aswell which you can check out and walk around freely.

the park is very spaced out which would be my only problem with the park. Its sectioned out which has its plus sides but also makes alot of walking.

All major food companys such as mcdonalds, kfc are found there if you dont like buying from the hot dog or burger stands.

There is plenty of stuff to take home with you. medals from the rides t-shirts any thing you could possibly think of you could take home.

i normaly end my day with a £5 tub of sweets. Buy the tub and what ever you can get in it is yours. always a great way to end the day.

Worth checking out

Summary: a place to go every year
