Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: Too far from me!!
Alton Towers is probably the best theme park in Britain, there is an abundance of rides for all ages.
It is broken up into different twelve different sections.
Adventureland - this is quite a small seciton of the park, located near the entrance rides in here include the spinball whizzer and the beastie.
Cloud Cuckoo Land - This section is geared towards the children and is home to the charlie and the choclate factory. This section is generally quite quiet most of the time due to the types of things that are there are more for children...althought eh charlie and the chocolate factory is really good!
Forbidden Valley - this is the most populare section of the park which is home to the newest and buiggest rides availble, Nemisi and Air, these two rides are th busiest in the park so be prepared to wait quite some time to ride these two!
Gloomy Wood - this section is home to my fave ride DUel, its a laser shooting game where you can compete against your oppent with a kind of zombie and ghost theme to the ride.
Katanga Canyon - this section is home the water rides...which get you seriously wet...take a spare set of clothes if you are going to ride. This has an african jungle theme.
Mutiny Bay - this has a number of attractions but are all quite tame so is really family orientated but does get quite busy.
Old MacDonald's Farm - this section again just fro children it home a very well done interactive ball pit. Not really much to say on this section as not really visited this.
Storybook Land - this a very relaxing section to the park and there are not many attractions here but it does seem to attract quite a fair bit of attention due to the setting
The Gardens - this is a lovely section whch is really just about walking, most popuar with couples looking for a romantic walk.
The Towers - this is a walk through exhibit with only one ride in it,Hex. I personally do not like this ride as the motion of it made me feel very sick and disorientated.
UG Land - this is home to rita - queen of speed and the corkscrew, there is a swing type ride in this section for children.
X Sector - This se3ction is not for the faint hearted, it houses the world's first ever vertical coaster; Oblivion and a few other attractions.
Summary: Really good day out!

- 29/05/09 More information on Alton Towers as a whole would have made this review much better, also including things such as admission prices, places to eat etc. and lastly, opinion! Lots of your own opinions makes a good review, we can easily found out the names of the rides on the website, but are they fun, what the queue's like, would you go again etc.! |
