Disadvantages: pricey , look out for discount vouchers,
hi
i went to alton towers last week , this is what i found,
firstly its a bit of a hike when you get off the motorway , and there is lots of windey roads to navigate as you get close, sign posting is ok , from the motor way and once your on the a roads,
on arrival its a military operation to park, there must have been 20 staff guiding and flagging you this way and that.
depending on where you park you may be quicker hopping on the free# monorail , we did, it delivers you to the main gates in 5 minutes,
we had saved tesco clubcard points and got buy one get one free tickets , so 2 adults for just under £40, better than nearly £80 !!
we got in quickly and jumped on the skytrain ,
we first did ripsaw , pretty scarey , dont leave loose change in your pockets !!!!
then on to nemesis , as scary as ever hold on tight,
we then went via the haunted mansion , do it its brilliant,
a great tip for lunch, "7.95 pp for all you can eat pizza and pasta/salads and free soft drinks, all good quality , ok not really cheap , but by far the best value in the park,
from there we watched oblivion , that looks realy scary , so gave that a miss !!
did the rapids , good fun, runaway train , great mini coaster,
and finished on rita, beware super fast big dipper,
prices for bits and pieces were on the high side . "
appx £1.50 for coffee £1.40 for tea, and fiver for two sticks of rock and a rock lolly,
the queues all day were small , longest wait for a ride was 30 minutes.
but there were no kids holidays on,
a bit dissapointed at the end when i realised i had to pay £5# for a token to get out of the car park,
top tip , get your tickets as cheap as possible , tesco points etc, overall highly recomend a great day out,
Summary: one of the uk,s best parks
