Great Day Out (Alton Towers (Staffordshire))
Member Name: haylourom
Advantages: Disabled Friendly Disadvantages: Food prices are high I have always loved Alton Towers! I went there as a child several times and i've been back as an adult several times and every time I've had a fab day out and wanted to go back for more! I would recommend it for all ages as there's plenty of fun to be had even if you don't like all the big rides. The only disadvantage I would say is that eating at the park can work out very expensive and once you are there it can be hard to get food so I would recommend taking food with you if you can. The Park is set in beautiful surroundings so there are plenty of great places to have a picnic which will only add to the enjoyment of the day. The queues can also be a problem because long queues can mean that you are often restricted to how many rides you can get through in a day and most of the day is often spent queuing so I would definitely recommend avoiding peak times. I myself have a disability and would recommend the park if you are in my position because if you go to an information booth on entry with proof of disability they will give you wrist bands to prevent you having to stand and queue which is much needed at a park as big as this! The only complaint I would have is that on my last visit they limited the wrist bands to me and one other person which meant that I could only enjoy the rides with one of my friends which can be a problem if you are disabled and there is more than one other person in your group that you want to spend the day with! Summary: Great Day but best to plan ahead |
