Wow...Alton Towers- For those who like that adrenaline Kick!
Alton Towers is located in the village of Alton is Staffordshire. It took me 30 minutes to get there and I live in Stafford. I know lots of people come from all over the place to visit Alton Towers which explains just how good it is. There is plenty of rides, shops, events and food places here and it keeps us all entertained.
The Best of the Rides...
Oblivion- This is one of the most thrilling rides and I would not look down at the top as you are seated at the top of a huge drop!
Rita- Also known as the queen of speed. This says it all to be honest, it reaches 0-100km/ph in 2.5 seconds!!
Air- This ride is exhilarating as it tilts you on your front and you feel as if you are flying!
Nemesis- This ride has been around for quite a while now and it takes you over rivers of blood and rock, reaching G-forces greater than a space shuttle launch!
This is very few of the great rides at Alton Towers, but there are also other things you can do there. If you are the type of person that likes to explore, you could have a look around the lovely well kept gardens! Not to be done in the dark...can be quite scary. My boyfriend told me 'This is a quick way'. We ended up lost and I have never been so scared...
Alton Towers also hosts lots of events. Halloween being my favourite. It is open from 20th March 2010, for another fantastic year!
It is in a great location which is really pictureque and there is a water park nearby named 'Splash Landings' which is meant to be great fun. Also, there is the Alton Towers hotel with a selection of themed rooms! This is great for a weekend away. There is lots to do and you will certainly never be bored.
There are many good points about Alton Towers, one of which being the thrill factor. It definately keeps you in suspense. Also if you do not like this king of rides, there are water rides, amusements, shows, games and parts to explore.
There are different sections of the park where different rides are located. If you are are a single rider, you can get onto the rids considerably faster than many others.
You can get great pictures of you from the rides in the form of a photograph, mug, keyring and mousemat. The only trouble is that these are quite expensive.
Also, there is a new product that you can get which is a little like a watch attached to your wrist and it records you on the rides. It is great watching it!
If you have a merlin annual pass, this can be used at Alton Towers which can be worthwhile as you get 20% of stays at the hotel and shopping and food!
The downsides are:
* The food can be very expensive, so it may be a good idea to take a picnic.
* If it is raining it can ruin the day :(
* This day out can involve a lot of walking so wear something sensible.
* The queues can vary depending when you go, but I would get there early as it is only open until 5'o clock.
* You have to pay £5.00 to park your car!
* It costs £36.00 for an adult for one day, so it can be expensive
This day out is suitable for all ages. There is plenty to do for youngsters, teenagers and adults. This makes a great day out and involves plenty of excitement.
Summary: Great day out once in a while
