Advantages: Great day out!!
Disadvantages: Long ques, and food can be expencive.
I went to Alton Towers before I got pregnant, and I loved it! When I went, it was peak season, and it was heaving with people! I think Alton Towers has got to be one of, if not the biggest theme parks in the UK, I did not really see much of it as it was really busy, and we kept getting lost!! First, I'd definatly say, leave in plenty of time as it is a big theme park, we did not get there until 2.00pm**, and we did not see as much as we had liked. When you get to the car park, you can either walk or get a sort of train come cable car ride down to the theme park. We got the train down and had to walk back, and its a bit of a walk!! Once we had paid, we got given a map, and beleive me, you need it!! I'm not a very good map reader, which explaines why we got lost so often! From there its up to you where you go! there are fast food restaurants dotted around, mainly like KFC places. When I went Oblivion was still in its testing stages, with real people though! and the car got stuck just as it was about to go over the edge! after seeing that, there is NO WAY!! I'll be going on that if I go again! I did get a go an Nemesis! I had to que up for 1 hour 45 minutes though!! The worst bit is waiting, you see all the other people on it and you also see the massive, thick poles keeping it up, swaying!! I felt sick, but still went on it!! It was great, but you will have to find out how good for yourself, I don't want to ruin it for anyone!! I also went on a yelow coloured rollar costa, I think it was called the Cork Skrew, It looks like a small rollar costar for beginers! but it was a bit more than that! Also another good one was The Black Hole, again I had to que for a while, but it was worth it! A word of warning though! do NOT sit behind someone who is heavy!! I sat behind my partner and got crushed!! He only weighed 2 stone more than me at the time!! I hope that they bring in the same sort of system as america, you
get a pass card, valid on all rides, you put it in a machine, and it prints out what time to come back for your ride. It would cut all the ques down, and would give paying public the chance to see everything they have on offer! I would definatly go again, it was a great day out! but I would go earlier next time! ** if you go in after 2.00pm, we got in for half price, £20.00 each. Not sure if they still do this.

- 28/06/03 My fave rides have got to be : River rapids, black hole and AIR! AIR has got to be my most, most fave. cool OP.
p.s the user 'DOO I' who put about blackpool being better I have got to disagree. Alton Towers is safer, friendlier, more choices, virtual tickets and cheaper. |

- 03/08/01 It sounds like you're saying half price is £20 each! It costs £22 per person at the moment full price, I hope it was never £40!! |

- 11/03/01 The Black Hole is one of the most FUNNIEST rides that my friends and I have been on. And its such a shame that the Thunderlooper had to be torn down (NOT!) |
