Advantages: It has everything

Disadvantages: Busy

I have visited Alton Towers on so many occasions that I could consider my visit to be an annual event.

The first thing I would say is that if possible go on a school day especially towards the end of the season in October. This is because the vast majority of visitors are young children.

Secondly regardless of when you visit make sure that you arrive before the park actually opens because it takes time to park your car and get to the main entrance. Pre booked tickets are also an advantage as it means that you can get past the crowds at the entrance.

The best time to go on the main attractions like Nemisis and Oblivion are at the begginnigs and the ends of days as they are far less crowded at these times.

The park itself offers everything; a great variety of rides; a splendid array of cafes/take-aways/restaurants and it is always well kept and the staff are helpful and pleasant.

The downside of such a great park is without doubt the ques but if you take my advice with a bit of luck you should miss the worst of these.
