Advantages: Very cleverly done

Disadvantages: Too much stalling before you get on the ride.

The new ride at Alton Towers is a very clever, but an anti climax based on the hype surrounding it. A good family ride though, you would have no problems taking small children on it, or adults who aren't keen on the thrills of rides such as Oblivian. However the waiting time is deceptive, with a long walk through the castle, a stalling video telling you about the legend and another stalling light show with storm sound effects before you even take your seat.

However the ride is clever and children are unlikely to work out quite how the illusion is created (I won't tell you what it is :-) ) athough adults will suss it eventually.

Worth a look if the waiting time is given as around 20 - 30 minutes or if you have got small children who can't do many of the other rides. Otherwise you will probably be disappointed that you wasted so much time. But it is nice to see new rides that everyone can enjoy rather than multimillion pound rides only for the very, very brave.
