Advantages: Variety, clean and professionally run

Disadvantages: Costly, all outdoors

I've visited Alton Towers regularly over the last few years and am always amazed at the price hike each time I have visited. For the number of adult rides available I do not think it justifies the admission fee. Admitedly the site is very clean and well organised and run very professionally, I do feel the hype is bigger than the theme park itself. For a family to spend a day there is a costly affair and if children are fairly young you are limited to which rides they can go on. Queue times are not grossely large as people make them out to be but be prepared for some waiting. As the majority of attractions are outdoors you do have to select your day carefully as it makes a miserable time when soaking wet unless you spend all day of the water rides!
