Alton Towers on the hottest day of the year seemed like a good idea going into it. That was until we decided to queue up to to ride Rita as the first ride of the day. The sun was scorching, the queue was winding and it was the worst possible start to the day as this continued for about an hour and a half, with a nice neck tan building ...

My only reservation with Alton Towers is that it takes so long and is so far away from Plymouth at nearly 250 miles, 3.5+ hours is the best I've ever done and was accomplished at 4.30am. Typical - I expected bad traffic queues around the M5/M6 interchange and there weren't any! It was originally owned by the Earl of Shrewsbury and ...

Alton Towers can be a good day out when when you can get promotion offers. Look out for promotion offers. Some places to look for are in newspapers, tesco club card point offers, Walkers crisp days out offers. These offers are usually full price free entry of buy one ticket and get another one free. If failing that, book tickets online as there is ...

I visited Alton Towers for the first time yesterday and I was very impressed. I went with my partner and 2 kids and think the day was enjoyed by all. The ticket prices are relatively high and along with this you do have to pay £5 a day for parking but it is fantastic as a treat and also you can exchange your tesco clubcard vouchers for tickets so ...

Alton Towers is the 2nd most visited theme park in the UK and the 11th most visited in Europe. Recently the park has undergone quite a change in renaming many of the 'zones' around the park as well as introducing its latest major ride 'Rita' only a handful of summers ago. Anyway, the park is split into sections and each incorporates a ...

Alton Towers is obviously the most famous theme park within the United Kingdom and for very good reason as far as I am concerned. I am going next month for only the 3rd time and I haven't even been on nemesis yet, my favourites being Air, Ripsaw and of course, who doesn't love the rapids or the duck log flume. The price can be steep if ...

Alton Towers is owned by the umbrella company Tussauds which also owns the theme parks Chessington world of Adventures and Thorp Park. Alton Towers is by far the biggest with the best rides. I think queuing can make or break your time at any theme park and Alton Towers do as much as they can to keep the queue times down and as ...

I have been going to Alton Towers for years and love it more and more every time I go. I went to the new sealife centre earlier in the month and thought it was great and was really impressed with it. The ticket prices are quite high but once your in the park there is no additional costs for other rides like you get with some theme ...

Nothing fills me with more joy than a theme park, and if you are going to visit a theme park in the UK, I can recommend Alton Towers above all of the rest. Alton Towers is the second most visited theme park in the UK (behind Blackpool pleasure beach). Its based in Staffordshire, and is built around a former stately home. History. ...

Alton towers is in my opinion one of the great theme parks in britain. You will be left with plenty to do and take in during a visit to the park. When first entering the park i was struck by the sheer size of it! It must be at least 3 times as big as thorpe park which meant much bigger rides. Oblivion is a must go on ride for all you thrill ...

A few months ago there was an offer in the Sun newspaper where if you collected a number of tokens and sent them off they would send you two free adult tickets to Alton Towers. The catch was they would choose the date. My boyfriend and I gave it a go and got Tuesday 9th of June. Excellent we thought, the kids weren't off school so ...

Alton towers is definitely my favorite theme park in the UK. The park is set in a lovely country environment with trees and lakes all around, making the park seem special. The rides are awesome, with revolutionary rides such as Oblivion which has a vertical drop, and Air which makes you feel like you are flying. Although Air can be ...

Alton Towers is quite simply the number 1 theme park in the UK and is easily my favourite park of its kind. I even went as far as getting a season ticket one year, although ironically that was probably the year I went to the park the least. I first went to Alton Towers relatively late in my childhood compared to my friends and at this ...

Just went Alton Towers a while back to visit with my friends. Alton Towers has a good choice of rides available and a lot of them are real thrillers to go on. The park was clean and also there was security around which made it feel good coming here. Alton Towers had a lot of places inside the park to eat from which was good to. The ...

Adventureland - this is quite a small seciton of the park, located near the entrance rides in here include the spinball whizzer and the beastie. Cloud Cuckoo Land ...

This has to be one of the best days out there is in the UK. Alton Towers ticks all the boxes and there is something for everyone. The park is set in massive grounds, so it is not all crammed together, you get a real feeling of space as you walk around. There are different sections to the park, including areas for kids, the gardens, ...

The good thing about Alton Towers is it is so easy to obtain half price or 2 for 1 vouchers, so although it can seem pretty pricey, bargains can still be had. Even at full price I have always found Alton Towers worth the money. The range of rides are impressive, there is something for everyone, from children to adults, and scaredy cats to thrill ...

Alton towers is much better compared to THorpe Park. The park itself is very atmospheric and well themed. It is much bigger and makes it more relaxing when travelling between the rides. I went for the first time last month. The park itself is impressive and amonst stepping into the gates, the theming is already there and you are ...

I recently went on a stag weekend that started off at Alton Towers resort. We were flying into East Midlands and arrived there at about 9 am. We had a mini bus waiting for us at the airprort which took us straight to Alton Towers. It was not a long journey and the resort is quite handy to the airport, maybe 45 minutes away. As we ...
