This year we needed (not wanted) a cheap holiday with the 2 boys (aged 9 and 12) so decided to put our Tussaud Group season tickets to good use and visit Alton Towers. Approximately 5 hours later, we arrived at our caravan site and then proceeded to spend 3 days of the week at the park. When you arrive (early arrival recommended) ...  Read the complete review

Alton Towers has got to be one of the best theme parks in the UK. It's located in Staffordshire in the East Midlands, which makes it pretty convenient from all parts of the UK. It helps that I actually live in the East Midlands, but if you are further away, you can always stay at the Alton Towers Hotel, which is on site. If you prefer a ...  Read the complete review

It?s the summer holidays and for most kids this can end up being quite boring if there?s nothing to do. This year I took my second visit to Alton Towers theme park. I visited the park on a Sunday as part of a bus trip that was being ran by Durham city coaches. The price for the day was £31.50, which was my bus there and back and my entry into the ...  Read the complete review

Alton Towers, it's the biggest and best theme park in the UK, or so everyone says. Well it's true. Or it used to be. The first thing that greets you at Alton Towers is the car parking charge. The official reason behind this was to discourage people from polluting the enviroment and instead using a more enviromentally ...  Read the complete review

So you hear the hype, you visit Alton Towers, and you que for their latest ride- A I R My first TIP would be to get a DUAL QUE ticket which lets you...well basically pus infront of everyone else in the que. Ok, so you dont enter the que at the ride, but you do avoid the main que to the AIR ride. The DUAL QUE ticket for Nemesis allows you ...  Read the complete review

I went to Alton Towers last week for a fun day out trip. The car journey was ok as it was sign posted well. There is a reason why I went here. I had gone to Thorpe Park Holiday Centre in Cleethorpes thinking Thorpe Park was nearby and then when I asked someone where it was they said it is in Surrey. Oh well, that was my plans ruined and my day and ...  Read the complete review

Well, I may have been spoilt by three trips to Florida in the last four years, but I think Alton Towers could learn a lot from our American friends.... We arrived at the park at around 10am on a Friday in May. The queues at the ticket booths were already quite substantial, and considering this was an "off-peak" day (entrance fee ...  Read the complete review

As we approached the entrance we realised it was closed with no instructions of what to do next so we drove on and reached another entrance where we cleared with sercurity that we had a room booked and entered the park. ...  Read the complete review

Once upon a time, way back in 1800, the 15th Earl of Shrewsbury looked across the grounds from his home at Alverton Lodge and had a vision.
