Get back to school and do some work little darlings, while mummy and daddy sneak off to Alton Towers for the day. As the sad children of England file back to their classes over the next weeks, thousands of parents will learn to smile again. For when the kids are away the grown ups do play. My first port of call will be Alton ... Read the complete review

This year for a holiday my dad took me and my brother to Alton Towers for 2 days. When we got there after 3 and half hours of driving I found directions to the car park very easy to follow. After parking we thought queueing would take another hour or so, but to our supprise it took only 15 minutes! The theme park is very big and very ... Read the complete review

Alton Towers has to be the Uk's premier theme park and in fact one of the best in Europe. It has the best selection of rides and attractions and although a little on the expensive side to get in, at least they regularly run offers. It really is a great day out for all the family. They have their policy of releasing a new ride or attraction ... Read the complete review

Alton Towers may be the greatest British theme park but it certainly is not the best value park. £20 for a day is just too much to pay when you could go to other parks for aroung £10. They never seem to have any offers no more so you must pay £20 if you want to go. However it is certainly one of the best parks ever, The Nemesis and Oblivion are ... Read the complete review

We visited Alton Towers last year and decided to stay on-site at the Alton Towers hotel. On arrival the reception is very impressive with a huge Jules-Verne type flying machine suspended from the ceiling. You can choose to stay in an 'ordinary' bedroom or in one of the themed bedrooms(Arabian Kinghts, Cadbury room etc). Although ... Read the complete review

The OBLIVION ride is, for me, the main attraction at alton towers. To feel that force pressing against your chest for a few seconds - its the nearest thing to skydiving or jumping off a tall building or something. Although the queues are sometimes long, I feel that the way that you do queue for rides at AT is very cool. They intice you ... Read the complete review

Alton Towers is in my opinion the only British Theme Park worth visiting. I've been to the three main ones in Britain, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and Alton Towers and the other two are not as good. Alton Towers is larger, cleaner, with bigger, faster and more exciting rides (for a start, it actually has rollercoasters which ... Read the complete review

I recently visited Alton Towers for a birthday treat there were 16 of us. 2 of which were disabled they were very accomodating for disabled people they gave them a special wristband and used different entrances for the rides and allowed them on first. My favourite ride had to be the oblivion which is a vertical drop into the ground. This was ... Read the complete review

If I had to sum up this ride in one word, I’d have to say ‘Ooer!’ – that’s the feeling you get when you take the plunge. You start off by slowly moving up the track, getting a birds-eye view of the park. Then you turn, and move towards the top. You start to tilt, then you stop. “Don’t look ... Read the complete review

Okay, so you get to Alton Towers, get off the skyride, and are greeted by a sign saying that virtual queues are in operation today. Fantastic! Perhaps you'll get chance to look around the place a bit more instead of doing the usual queue-for-hours, ride-for-seconds, run-to-next-queue business. Unfortunately, you'd be mistaken. ... I've visited Alton Towers regularly over the last few years and am always amazed at the price hike each time I have visited. For the number of adult rides available I do not think it justifies the admission fee. Admitedly the site is very clean and well organised and run very professionally, I do feel the hype is bigger than the theme ... Read the complete review

No wonder Alton Towers is the most popular attraction in the whole of the UK, it has everything u could ever wish for. The last time I went was about a year ago, and I honestly had an excellent time. You would be suprised to know that the queues were small, even for the major rides. If u were to put Alton Towers down, it would be because, their ... Read the complete review

The new ride at Alton Towers is a very clever, but an anti climax based on the hype surrounding it. A good family ride though, you would have no problems taking small children on it, or adults who aren't keen on the thrills of rides such as Oblivian. However the waiting time is deceptive, with a long walk through the castle, a stalling video ... Read the complete review

The last time I went to Alton Towers I thourghly enjoyed it. I think that it's a brilliant place to go to enjoy yourself on a day out. At the theme park there is a vast selection of rides which range from the fearsome Oblivion to the less scarry Ug Land which encorporates a variety of childrens rides. The theme park ... I have visited Alton Towers on so many occasions that I could consider my visit to be an annual event. The first thing I would say is that if possible go on a school day especially towards the end of the season in October. This is because the vast majority of visitors are young children. Secondly regardless of when you visit ... Read the complete review

It is official, alton towers is THE most popular tourist attraction in Britain. Why? Because it only has the best attractions in the country! I love alton towers, but it can get far too busy sometimes. My advise is to go early, get there for when the park opens - around 10am in the summer me thinks. Then go straight for the big rides for an hour or two b4 relaxing over some lunch. After that the best time to go on the rides again is 4:30 or later. If you stay until the park ... I have to admit that up until a few weeks ago, I had never visited Alton Towers before because I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to scary rides. However, I have to say that I really enjoyed myself despite having to spend most of the day queuing. My friends showed me no mercy as the first ride they dragged me on was the Nemesis which I ... I live within an hours drive of chessington World of adventures and yet, given the choice, I would still rather travel to Staffordshire to visit Alton Towers. Oblivion is just the most mad experience you can imagine... you hover metres over a gaping pit, and then free-fall into the darkness. Its strange, but i enjoy that kind of terror. ... Having visted the Theme Park as both a single person and with children and i confirm Alton Towers has alot to offer families.
