Advantages: Small child friendly zoo

Disadvantages: No big animals or Lions and Tigers. Elder kids might not enjoy here.

Last weekend, I was planning to take my 1 year old son to Zoo, and quick google returned Battersea Park Children's zoo as nearest zoo from my home. I checked their website, but did not get enough information on what animals can be found there. But their website gives an idea that only small animals are kept there as it is children's zoo. There was no point going to ZSL London Zoo as it would be too much for a year old baby. So I set the address in my navigation system and set off for this zoo.

The Zoo is located in huge battersea park in central London. It is actually taking comparitively small area in the park. The Adult ticket is £6.50, for kids it is around £4 and kids under 2 goes free.
For adults and kids above 5 years old, this zoo will be a bit disappointment. But kids under 5 enjoys more here than bigger zoo. It is nice environment, with separate play area, small restaurant etc.

About animals.. There are various type of small monkeys (no big gorrillas though), Sheep, Donkeys, Giant Rabbit, Meerkat, Peacock etc. Kids get to touch that beautiful furry giant white rabbit and they love it.

They should keep more sheeps and Pink Pigs etc, so kids can compare them with what they learn in their nursery books.
They also have models of tractor and JCBs for kids to try.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. They gather kids during animal's feeding time and let kids enjoy feeding them the special food.

As an adult, I did not enjoy much of the zoo, but really enjoyed watching my son running around and having fun. Other small kids also seem enjoying a lot.

There is a small souvenier shop cum ticket office, where you can buy some goodies.

Summary: Consider this if you have much youger kids. Don't expect a lot from this lovely compact zoo.
