Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Advantages: 125 Attractions, 12 Rollercoaster
Blackpool Pleasure Beach or Pleasure Beach Blackpool as it's now knwn is situated in the South Shore area of Blackpool. The park was first opened in 1896 by Alderman William George Bean.
The park has over 125 attractions including 12 rollercoasters and of course the Pepsi Max Big One.
Whilst there I was a little dissapointed that Space Invader 2 one of the rollercoasters was shut but had an awesome day. We managed to get on all the rolleroasters except Rollercoaster and all of them were great.
The attractions we went on were:
Ice Blast - I was a bit nervous on this ride espeicially as it was the first of the day. However, when the ride set off it was excellent the best bit been when you have been launched upwards and begin to drop and your body wants to carry on going up but is been forced down.
Pepsi Max Big One - The second ride of the day and we decided to go for it before the queues built up. The ascent up the huge 200ft hill is excellent and builds you up perfectly for the big drop. You then fly down the drop and are thrown into one of the best rollercoaster experiences you can have. We went on this ride 3 times throughout the day and everytime was brilliant. I would definatly reccomend taking the back seats to make your ride more intense.
Infusion - Most definatly my 2nd favourite ride of the day. This is a suspended rollercoaster and you are taken for an excellent ride. There are numerous drops, loops and corkscrews which make this ride very intense.
Big Dipper - One of the most famous rides in the world and it didn't dissapoint. The sheer fact that this rollercaster is made of wood and sounds like it could collapse any minute makes this ride even more thrilling.
Grand National - Probably one of my least favourite rides on the day. Another wooden rollercoaster that might fall apart. However, this time I was thrown around my seat too much and came out with a few bruises. A good rollercoaster but a bit too rough.
Avalanche - On this one you are taken round a sort of bobsleigh track and the carriages aren't attached to the ground which makes it all the more thrilling. A fast paced rollercoaster well worth a try.
Steeplechase - This was the worst ride of the day for me simply because I was too tall to fit in the seat properly with my feet in the stirrups. Throughout the ride I was in alot of pain so if you're quite tall sit in the front seat where there is much more room.
Irn Bru Revolution - A short but very sweet rollercoaster. You are launched from the station into a loop and then another station where you sit for a while and are thrown into the loop backwards. The loop backwards is the best.
Valhalla - A great water ride where you are taken through a story abought the vikings. However, be warned I had a Poncho on and still got drenched.
Bing - In this ride you swing from side to side until you are trown in a full circle whilst your seats also rotate. A great fun ride that isn't as bad as it looks.
Trauma Towers - On this ride you walk through a little very poor haunted house, until you get to the main ride. On the main ride you sit in a big circle and the lights go off and it is pitch black the circle then spins round really quickly, and you see various ghost and the ride bumps up and down. This ride made me feel slightly sick and gave me a headache. A good ride if you like these sort of rides.
Flying Machines - This is the oldest ride at the Pleasure Beach so you just have to ride. You are rotated in some planes and the centrafugal force pushes them outward. A bit boring but ok.
So there you have it all the rides we went on. The rest of the day was spent eating and going back on our favourite rides.
The day out was great value for money at just 20 pound for a full wristband (more expensive in summer).
I would definatly reccomend a trip to the Pleasure Beach. Espeicially if you haven't been before.
Summary: Great day out for anyone.
