On a recent visit to Blackpool we visited the Blackpool zoo for the first time, although we have been to Blackpool twice before in the past few years we didn't go to the zoo during these visits, we read about the zoo on the internet and a few friends had told us it was really good. Unfornately we went to Blackpool for the illuminations ... Read the complete review

I go to Blackpool regularly. I have been in most of the attractions & this is no exception. I would descibe the Zoo as mid size. This is a good thing. You can get round it quickly if you like spending a few minutes at each enlosure & get out in half a day. Equally, if you want to know more about the animals you can comfortably ... For the last two years my daughter and I have enjoyed a few days in Blackpool, and on both trips our favourite of all the attractions was the zoo, in fact it was only 3 days since our recent visit and my daughter is still talking about it. Situated just a couple of miles from The Golden Mile Promenade I believe it is easily accessible and sign ... Read the complete review

I went to blackpool zoo with 2 other adults, 3 children under the age of 6 and a small baby. We all loved it. The enclosures are close together so there's not lots of walking. The park feels spacious so its easy to navigate with a pushchair/ wheelchair. Although it was a Tuesday in June when we visited so not a bank holiday/ school ... Read the complete review

This could the only reason for the family to go to Blackpool these days! Its a fantastic day which isn't over priced. I have to admit I judged the zoo by the standards of Blackpool myself thinking it would be a run down, tacky tourist attraction. I couldn't have been so wrong. The zoo is about 2 mile from the sea front an is ... Read the complete review

Blackpool Zoo is more than I ever imagined it would be. I went expecting a second rate, small place with a limited selection of animals (I don't know why, i think it's just always known as Chester's poorer cousin) but on arrival I was proved wrong. It's got a lovely welcoming and modern entrance (revamped recently apparently and its ... Read the complete review

During our recent trip to Blackpool we decided to visit Blackpool zoo on a nice sunny day in April 2009. The zoo is home to over 1500 animals from all over the world and also plays an important role in conservation projects. Set over 32 acres of parkland it looked like a great day out. Once we entered the zoo it was time to consult the map and ... Read the complete review

By road Blackpool zoo is really easy to find. From junction 32 on M6 get onto the M55 and the zoo is clearly signposted from there! There is plenty of parking when you get to the zoo. For an adult a ticket is £13.25 and for a child its £9.30. (A child is classed as under 16). Good value for money as you will spend at least 3-4 hours ... Read the complete review

Well it was a warm weekend in Blackpool so we decided to visit the zoo... I had heard good and bad things about this zoo. The man at the guest house said it was very good. I believe it has been revamped. Not sure what to expect I was pleasantly suprised. Opening times: When we went in February last admission was 4pm with the ... Read the complete review

BLACKPOOL ZOO Blackpool Zoo has recently undergone major improvement as I outline in this review. To get to Blackpool Zoo by car you leave the M55 motorway at junction three and follow the A583 road towards Blackpool Town Centre. The brown elephant signs then tell you where to turn right and go past Stanley Park and on to the zoo ... Read the complete review

I live in a village near Blackpool so we manage to take our children to Blackpool zoo once or twice a year. The zoo has changed beyond all recognition in the last few years and I would never recognise it from when I was a child, the change is definitely for the better. I was a bit of an animal activist in my teens and when a group of us went when ... Read the complete review

I love Blackpool Zoo, and a less than £20 for a family ticket it is a good, cheap day out for the kids. Blackpool Zoo is not big, but the animals appear well cared for and happy. I haven't been this year, but last time I went I was impressed by the refurbishments they had done, especially those inside the elephant house. ... Read the complete review

I have travelled round and seen numerous Zoo's and I can honestly say that Blackpool has the best one. Blackpool Zoo is run by dedicated and expert management and keepers who try to do the best they can with the smallest of finances. It houses over 400 animals and is a major player in the conservation of Wildlife. It also houses over 40 ... Read the complete review
