Advantages: the zoo's extensive range of animals and species
Disadvantages: admission prices can be a little high
I have been to Chester zoo many a times, my first experience being with my primary school, since then i have been about 6 times and loved every single visit, what attracts me to the zoo is how many different attractions, and different animals there are, and the variety of things to see and do.
Chester zoo is home to over 7000 animals and around 400 different species of rare, exotic and endangered wildlife and is set within 110 arches of gardens.
The park plays host to many endangered species and is continually developing the highest standards of conservation and care of its animals and plants, making a real contribution to saving them from extinction.
There is many animals to see including, monkeys, elephants, lions, tigers, red apes, rhino's, exotic birds, jaguars, camels, sealions- to name but a few! so you'll never be bored when visiting the park.
Chester zoo take pride in their exhibits of different animals, which gives visitors the chance to learn about the animals habitat, feeding patterns, and what makes them so endangered, making people more knowledgeable.
They also invest a vast amount of funds, time and technical support into a wide variety of conservation activities in the wild around the world, with most of the animals being part of breeding programme's.
The gardens deservedly famous with different garden areas representing different regions and type of plants, many of which are rare or extinct. They provide a glorious backdrop to the animals and reflect the natural habitats of some of our most exotic species a lovely area to come and reflect on the day, and is a big hit with many people.
Chester zoo caters for everyone, with their wide range of food stands, cafes, restaurants, children's play area's, and there well stocked souvenir and gift shops- although can be very pricey.
The whole park is totally wheelchair and pushchair accessible, and these are also available to hire.
Admissions prices are a little on the high side of things, but you have a choice weather or not to pay the gift aid prices or normal prices- the gift aid prices simply mean the few extra pounds you pay help towards the conservation and upkeep of the zoo.
Group rates are lower with people who book with more than 15 people and under two's are free.
All in all a brilliant day out for the whole family, and with 110 arces to cover make sure you wear comfortable shoes!
Summary: A great day out for the whole family- even nan!
