Great British Day Out.
Member Name: mse123
Advantages: Loads to do, not many hidden costs
Disadvantages: Bit expensive to get in
"The Summer fun's right here at Diggerland..." I should start by saying that if you haven't already done so you should definitely visit the Diggerland website (http://www.diggerland.com/) and experience the catchy Diggerland theme song.
We first visited Diggerland in Devon (Verbeer Manor, Cullompton, Devon EX15 2PE) whilst on holiday in February and recently visited again for my son's birthday. From first impressions the park seems a bit sorry for itself, especially in British drizzle, but 10 minutes in and even I (with no strong feelings about diggers of any kind) was having a whale of a time. During our most recent visit, we were able to take the controls and drive a full sized JCB, drive a JCB "robot" vehicle, ride in a police car, drive a tractor and take in the view on top of the "sky shuttle". In addition there are quite a few fairground-style rides which have been fashioned out of diggers and children receive a free certificate to remind them of their day.
At £15 entry per person (over 3) there are cheaper days out, but offers are available (eg. http://www.enjoyengland.com) and chances are you'll have a great time!
Summary: Give it a go!
