I recently visited Diggerland in Durham so I have taken up the challenge to review it myself, as a lover of diggers and all things big and machine-y.
For my birthday last July my mother treated me to a day at Diggerland, Durham. I know, I know I'm technically too old for that sort of thing, but I am such a digger enthusiast..... Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and enjoy things! The website does state "It's not just for kids-n adults can have the time of their life too!" and I have to agree, I had a brilliant day. My mother also had lots of fun but had to sit with a nice cup of tea after taking a bit of a turn on the "Spin dizzy" ride..... it didn't leave me feeling to chipper either- don't go on this one unless you have a strong stomach!!
Dippy Ducks was probably the most inventive ride- who would have thought you'd ever be able to play that old carnival favourite from INSIDE A DIGGER! Lots of fun! My favourite ride, however, was without doubt the JCB drive- a brilliant experience for a digger enthusiast. The power you feel when you're in command of one of those machines is just indescribable.
The price is quite steep; it worked out at £17 for me and £8.50 for my 66 year old mother. However, Diggerland does cater to a very niche audience (youngsters and big kids like me) so you're paying for one of the only places in the world where you can have this sort of experience with big diggers! All rides were included in the price, apart from some smaller diggers near the entrance and bumper cars- there's so much else to choose from though that you won't need to worry about this. I have noticed, from a brief check on the website that Diggerland are currently offering £2 off the adult price tickets and £1 off concessions if you book online and in advance- that's more like it!
I would recommend Diggerland to adults who have the same love of awesome man made machines that I do. I saw lots of families there that day, and for children of around 6 there seemed to be a lot to do, but maybe not so much for very young children as the staff can be quite strict on age limits with rides. All in all a wonderful experience with some amazing machines!

Summary: Good for machine lovers!
