Last week, my sister asked if we would like to go to Edinburgh Zoo as a birthday treat for my niece (who turned 7 at the weekend). She was desperate to see the monkeys as she is obsessed with them so yesterday, my sister and I, her three children (10, 7 and 4) and my son (4) headed off to the Zoo. This was my third visit to Edinburgh Zoo ... Read the complete review

When my mum and I planned our trip to Edinburgh, we had a list of things we wanted to do. Edinburgh Zoo was not on that list. However, as I found myself getting up quite early and going out for a wander on my own once we were in Edinburgh, it occurred to me that instead of just having a walk, I could actually go somewhere specific for ... OK, so first of all I ought to put this review in context. My wife and I are Platinum card holders at Colchester Zoo which I think is probably the best zoo in UK. Why, may you think did you even bother with Edinburgh then? Well, Pandas for one and because as a platinum card holder of Colchester we get to go to ... Read the complete review

The weather was cold and dull on the day that me and my partner in crime decided to go to the zoo!! I have really enjoyed going to zoos in the past so I got my wellies on determined that the rubbish weather wasn't going to spoil our day. It was easy enough to find a car parking space and we walked straight up to a counter so there were ... Read the complete review

I recently visited Edinburgh Zoo with my other half and our little boy for his second birthday. I hadn't been to the zoo for about 10 years at least and so it was a shock to see just how much it had changed. Everything is uphill even going into the car park. The charge for parking is £3.50 whether you are there an ... Read the complete review

Edinburgh zoo is open every day of the year roughly till about 5 or 6 oclock depending on the season, but the last entry is often an hour before this. Overall the zoo is a great day out. Sometimes the animals are hard to see and you may get the impression that there are many empty cages. One part you won't be disappointed with is the ... Read the complete review

DON'T HAVE A CHILDRENS PARTY AT EDINBURGH ZOO.It is very expensive £15 per child and total hassle for the parents. Nowhere to leave presents, no help taking children round the zoo, not advised that the restaurant we had booked with the soft play was closed, ended up very squished in busy cafe. No party bags - just a few toys stuck in the picnic box. Total shambles.

I have always had a soft spot for animals and as a child used to like going to zoos. I know these aren't everyone's cup of tea and I can see partly where they are coming from with regards to enclosures etc, however a lot of animals that are in zoos are animals that have been rescued and would not survive in the wild. Many zoos now have ... Read the complete review

Edinbuirgh Zoo is the only zoo existing in Scotland (although there are a few safari parks about now) It is home to the only polar bear in Scotland and its main attraction (in my opinion) are the penguins, who do a march of the grassy area everyday.
