Lightwater Valley (North Yorkshire)
Advantages: Gread day out for the whole family.
I last visited light water valley last summer, and I have to say it was a day to remember. The whole family really enjoyed it as there was something for everyone, I enjoyed the scenery and the walk around the park as I am not a great rollercoaster lover
I found that I was very happy just taking in the sunshine, while the rest of the family enjoyed the roller coasters and other attractions.
The Light water Valley is a theme park set in a one hundred and seventy five acre space, Before the park was built it was originally a strawberry farm, which flooded therefore a lake was added.
This then attracted many visitors, so over a period of time small rides were added to the lake, this then went onto form light water valley.
Light water valley is now known for having Europe's longest rollercoaster, and roughly 40 other rides and attractions. All of which are designed for both children and adults.
LIGHT WATER VALLEY RIDES
The theme park itself consists of over forty different rides, these rides are split into sections, For example:
The jaw droppers, these are the rollercoaster and extreme thrill rides, most of these have height restrictions so they will not be suitable for younger children who are less than 52 inches tall.
Whipper snappers are less extreme thrill rides for younger children and adults over 50 inches, these are basically bumper cars and pirates ships ect, and lastly the nippers which are very tame rides for babies and younger children.
These are some of light water valleys rides that attract thousands of people a year.
The ultimate, this is currently Europe's longest wooden roller coaster and has been in the Guinness book of records, for being the longest for over ten years. The ultimate is one and a half miles long and cost 5.2 million to build in 1991.
Other rides include The Eagle's Claw, Hornet's Nest, The Falls of Terror, Trauma Tower, The Grizzly Bear and The Twister.
Light water also offers animals shows very few hours, train rides around the park and even crazy golf.
