Advantages: Very large exhibits

Disadvantages: Gets crowded early

Situated in the old GLC HQ, London Aquarium has kept up the image of housing plenty of bottom feeders!

Having been twice, once a week after opening and again last year both visits have been thoroughly enjoyable.

The best attractions have to be the salt water fish housed in a three (yes three!) storey high tank with viewing windows at all levels. Here you get to see different types of fish that school near the surface, feed on falling debris at mid level and flat fish at the bottom. Included are sharks, huge Moray eels and rays.

There is a vast amount to see from tropical fish to fresh water fish in good sized clean environments easily viewed by tall and short.

My favourite has to be the ray tank where you can actually touch rays as they swim about the enclosure. (they feel just like wet flotex!)

Young or old, there is a lot to see and learn. Seeing TV documentaries is one thing, but getting with inches of a real shark is something else!
