Advantages: short queues

Disadvantages: lack of true white knuckle rides

Oakwood is West Wales's premier theme park. It boasts the worlds largest wooden rollercoaster Megaphobia - although I must say it is significantly smaller than many of its steel counterparts. Having said that Meagphobia is a fantastic white knuckle ride. Although it is not an old rollercoaster it does have that old feel, perhaps it is made all the better that your not bolted into the seat like you are with many newer style rollercoasters.

oakwoods perhaps most unique ride is vertigo. You and a couple of friends are dragged up by a bungee rope beneath a giant steel arch, before pulling a cord to let yourself drop and swinging at a great height above the theme park. However this ride does cost an extra £30, although this cost can be split between up to 3 friends on the ride.

Other rides include bounce (as seen at many theme parks), a pirate ship (likewise) various wter rides and a childrens areas.

The cost to enter the park is in the regoin of £15 per person, alhtough a family ticket can be bought which works out more economical. There is ample car parking and road links are very good.

The park is great for a family, although for real white knuckle ride seekers may be dissappointed. Its relatively small size means it does not attract massive crowds, so queues are rarly a problem, but avoid just before the school holidays when schools go on trips there.

Overall i would give oakwood a dooyoo rating of 3 out of 5.
