Advantages: Thrill rides a plenty
Disadvantages: Long queues
Last week a few friends and I took the day off work to visit Thorpe Park which is owned by Taussauds who also run Alton Towers.
Located just off junction eleven of the M25 it is well sign posted from the motorway and was not hard to find. What I like about Thorpe Park is that all of the rides are relatively close together so you do not have to do loads of walking about unlike Alton Towers. On the downside you do have to endure long queues and we seemed to hav picked a day when a few school parties were in attendance. We had all used Tesco vouchers to book our tickets which is a great saving as entrance is over £25, having already booked our ickets I paid little attention to the prices.
The park is full of high energy rides and is lots of fun, Stealth (similar to Rita at Alton Towers) has to be my favourite as it is a very fast roller coaster however Revolution is also good with lots of inversions as well. Ther is a good mixture of rides including a log flume and also tidal wave where you get absolutely soaked on, not a good hair day for sure. This park is definately aimed at the older children and adults and there is not so many rides aimed at younger children, they are not ignored but Chessington is better for them.
Food I'm afaraid is all the usual fast food chains and over proced but they do have a bar which was nice to be able to get a drink or three.
It is a great day out if you do not mind queuing with the longest wait for us being an hour.
Summary: Good fun park
