Advantages: Lots of fast rides

Disadvantages: Q's still big even mid week

I had not been to Thorpe Park for about 10 years as it never seemed to be as good as Alton Towers but after my trip the last week I am forced to rethink this point of view.
I chose to go on a weekday to try a beat the q's which sort of worked.
Since I last went they have put in a lot of new rides which were really very good.
The new Saw Ride was not a disappointment and was as good as it looked in the adverts. The queuing time was about 20 mins but this did go up though out the day.
A ride that was a nice surprise was Rush which is basically a giant swing and it really does make your stomach turn. Another good thing about this ride was the queuing time was only 10 mins so we did this ride twice.
Nemesis Inferno was another good addition to the park and another ride that I loved.
The tidal wave was the wettest water ride that I had ever been on and I actually think jumping in a bath would have made me less wet!! But it was a good ride and the weather was hot so the wetness really didn't matter.
Colossus is a good classic roller coaster.
No way out was ok but not really worth going on if the q's are large.
Stealth was really good but this was our biggest queuing time of the day at 60 mins.
The price of food in the park is pretty expensive so take your own is may advice although KFC was only £1 more than normal.
Before you go make sure you look for 2 for 1 voucher for entry. There are loads about and everyone seemed to have one on the way in.
The rides are all close together which is great as it means you don't spend half your day walking round.
In all we had a great day and I am wondering if its really worth travelling all the way to Alton Towers anymore.

Summary: Really good day out

I am also a fan of Alton towers, but might give Thorpe park a go, How long was the queues during busy times?
