Advantages: Fun rides.

Disadvantages: Queues and cost.

I have loved theme parks since I was a young child and was desperate to be old (well, maybe tall enough) to go on the proper scary rollercoaster rides! When I was growing up, out of Chessington and Thorpe Park, Chessignton was the one with the most rollercoasters and scary rides. As I got older though Thorpe Park seems to have over taken Chessington and won the crown of most cool theme Park with the best rides for teenagers and adults. I decided to go for my birthday this year, which falls in October, and hopefully meant I was avoiding the crowds and lengthy queues, and see how good it really was.

The day out itself is expensive if you pay full price. The adult price when I went a couple of weeks ago was 35 pounds. I made sure I saved a buy one get one free voucher from Tesco earlier in the summer. There are plenty of ways to save money on theme park trips, and you should make sure you do so, otherwise trips are so expensive, and they really needn't be.

When we got there I was suprised to see it was busier than expected. So the queues for the popular rides (like Saw) were still well over an hour. If you fancy one of the popular rides, arrive early and get on it then, otherwise you will spend your whole day queueing and only go on a couple of rides.

The less popular rides, which in my opinion were still good, were less busy, and the queue time was obviously shorter, like the teacup rides, you only had to queue for 10 minutes and it was still run.

There was quite a wide variety of rollercoasters, the SAW ride, collosus, and a start to 100kphr in only a few seconds type ride, that I cant remember the name of! There was also a samuri type ride which lifts you up and spins you round. I think I have seen one of these at every theme park I have been to!

The great thing about Thorpe Park is that every ride I went on I loved. They had more rides than I could possibly fit in in one whole day which was a very good thing.

Another way to save money if you need to, would be to take your own drinks and food, as to buy it there is quite costly!

Plan ahead any enjoy your thrill seeking day out!

Summary: Plan your day well to get the most out of it.
