Advantages: Lots to do and plenty of thrilling rides
Disadvantages: Queues, queues and mor queues
I have been to thorpe park many times. I mainly go around once a year, depending on weather.
To get to Thorpe park you can catch a train to staines, then get a bus striaght there or like me you can drive there.
Over the years i believe thorpe park has slowly gone up in my estimation with theme parks. I used to think that chessington and alton towers were the ones to beat but gradually thorpe park has slowly gone up this ladder. Although quite a small area, thorpe park boasts quite a few good rollercoasters.
First things first, the price.. at £35 each its quite expensive. This price DOES NOT include fast track which you'll have to pay extra for. My advice is to look for B.O.G.O.F deals in newspapers as they run quite regularly or sometimes 30% tickets. I dont think i have ever paid for a full price ticket!
As i said Thorpe park has one of the best rollercoasters in the country and with that expect queues and in some cases even though very rare technical difficulty. When i was waiting for the SAW ride the queue time was about 2 hours!!! Other rides like Collosus, Tidal Wave, Nemesis inferno and stealth are all the popular ones so expect queues or if you can get to the park early and get them out of the way, that way you'll get the chance to go on the smaller less busier rides which are still fun to go on, detonator and samurai and the teacups comes to mind lol.
Another time to go is in Halloween as they have special mazes you go through which are REALLY scary. You live in groups of five hold shoulders above and walk around the maze. Your not allowed to break the chain or your in trouble. However you'll have to start booking this in advance as it is very popular.
Overall Thorpe Park is a wicked day out, it all depends on how you plan your day. Also to try and save money try and bring your own food there as its quite pricey and before your know it your moneys gone!
Summary: An all round great theme park
