Thorpe Park (Surrey)
Advantages: GOod mix of rides
Disadvantages: SAW disappointing due to all the hype
First of all i would like to say NEVER EVER go without first getting a 2 for 1 ticket. Every single time i have been, i have been avble to get hold of one somewhere, whether it was newspaper, a token with a WHSmith purchase, or simply a quick google search and print out. Although when you get there, there is almost always someone in line handing out spare 2 for 1 vouchers.
Also bear in mind, if for some reason you cant get a 2 for 1, consider purchasing online the night before as you can get about £6 off. I think tickets are about £35 on the gate.
So the park..... with the tallest rollercoaster in the UK, stealth is definately a highlight. Accelerating at 0-80mph in under 3 seconds, the g-force is definately an experience.
Nemisis inferno and collossus are also pretty amazing, and i never seem to get bored of them despite being to the park about 4 times this year.
The famous SAW ride that was added this year, was a bit of a dissappointment. It never felt like it really got going, it never got high enough and there were that many SAW like effects. Although its definately worth a ride or two, i wouldnt que up for an hour again.
The one ride i would not reccomend is X:No way out. its basically an indoor rollercoaster that goes backwords in the dark, and left me and all 4 of my friends feeling sick, with 1 of them actually being sick, so if you get queezy easy, avoid!
So the actuall park. i'd definately say it comes as a close second only to its big brother Alton Towers, in terms of best theme parks in the country. The ries are well maintained and breakdowns are quite infrequent. Queing times tend to be under 45mins even in summer.
So all in all, a great day out, definately worth the money. And if you plan on going quite a few times ina year., you can buy an annual pass for aobut £80 :)
Summary: A great day out, definately worth the money.
