Thorpe Park (Surrey)
Advantages: Loads of fast thrill-seeking rides
Disadvantages: Not so great for young children
Thorpe Park is one of the best theme parks in the UK in my opinion as it has the most fun rides and makes a fantastic day out with family or friends. The theme park is in Surrey near London and it's easy to with the train station being nearby or by car.
The park is pretty big and has so many fast rides which makes it more suitable for adults and teenagers rather than small children. There is a section in the park that has rides for younger children but generally the park has more thrill-seeking rides.
There are a few rollercoasters the best one being Colossus as well as a backwards rollercoaster which is all in the dark and quite scary as you don't know where you're going or what's around you. Their biggest water ride is Tidal Wave where a large boat takes several people up a huge hill and plunges you all down into the water and everyone always gets absolutely soaked. This is a great ride to go on in the summer when it's really hot as it cools you off perfectly. In winter though this isn't such a good ride to go on unless you have a change of clothes with you! There's also the new Saw ride which is the first ride in the world to be based on a horror movie - I haven't been on this yet but apparently it's pretty scary.
There are loads of other thrill-seeking rides including ones that spin you high up in the air, propel you fast towards the ground as well as fun ones for the whole family.
There are loads of places to eat inside the park and none of them are too expensive including Pizza Hut, McDonalds, KFC and all the usual fast food places. There are also a couple of restaurants but I prefer to just grab something quick and then get back to the rides. You can also take your own food with you which would be nice in the summer to sit on the grass and have a picnic.
Whenever I want a fun day out or a trip to a theme park, Thorpe Park is always the first place that I think of. It's quite close to me, has the most fast rides and it has everything to make a fabulous day out.
Summary: If I had children I would give this 4 stars but I don't so it's brilliant for me
