Advantages: You can get close to the animals
Disadvantages: can be an expensive day out
This is a great family day out for the adults as much as the children. I remember visiting this place when I was a child I didnt get to doo much since I spent my money on buying my mom a plant rarther than being able to go on the rides bless me the things we do for our moms.
I took my children last year it was the first time they had experianced anything like this apart from the zoo and you cant get that close to some of their animals.
It did work out expensive to go in we paid £50 for 2 children and 2 adults my daugher being so young entry was free but she enjoyed it just as much as the older ones.
You go in your car and drive round the animals some of which you can feed you can buy bags of the food for £4 if your child is brave enough to put their hand out of the car window to feed them. Most of the animals you can drive by and have the window open the children were amazed at this my children however were ok until the animals came a bit too close then they soon darted to the back of our 7 seater car. You cant drive fast round the park and even though they tell you to drive 20 mph you will always go much slower than this due to other people stopping to feed the animals or taking photos, this isnt too bad though because you get to read about the animals and take your own photos I left with loads of them.
You know you are in safe hands due to wherever you are there are qualified park rangers watching the animals and moving them on if they are not moving and stopping the cars from getting round. We were lucky that when we got there at half 10 the animals were hungry so they would come very close to the car a giraffe bought his head right down to the drivers side window to peer in which the children had a good giggle at. When we went through the white tiger area it was feeding time so the kids got to see them eating lunch. The most amazing animal that we saw was the lions he came and lay right infront of our car when the ranger came to move him on he turned round and walked straight towards us we all thought that it was about to jump on the bonnet but he walked past the side and we could see him you just dont realise how big they actually are. This is the only place that has white lions too which are so beautiful.
They have got animals that may damage your car but it is usually minor scratches done by their horns so we didnt mind too much. The wild dogs are now behind fencing due to how dangerous they are and the fact that they will rip your car apart.
When we got all the way round it was half 1 so lunch time was here they have a parking area right by where the theame park is and the eating area. We noticed a burger stall right by the toilets and all the children were desperate to go so I ordered us all some food and drink but you are able to take your own to save you some money if you wish the food for all of us was £15 which to be honest was not expensive and was nice to eat.
We then took the kids to the theame park to be honest I wasnt too impressed with the park some rides were too big for the kids I had to also buy a wrist band to be able to take the children on rides. This cost me £30 for 3 of us but the kids enjoyed it they made me go on the waterslide with them twice that was fun we all got soaked.
Where the theame park is we went into a bat cave i dont think the kids believed us when we told them that bats were flying above their heads we saw some reptiles and fish which they did get a bit board of. There were seals swimming in an open pool that the children could see them diving through the glass and we made sure we made it back for the seal show which was a great end to the day they were showing us how they do tricks and telling us all about how the animals survive and what they eat the kids couldnt take their eyes of them.
I am lucky in the way that I only live 45 minuite drive to get here just a shame that I have to save to be able to go again really but it is well worth the money better than a zoo in my opinion. The other good thing about this is that when you have paid you will get a voucher to be able to return for free before November so it will only cost you half the amount next time you visit.
Summary: A great family day out
