Advantages: So much to see and do

Disadvantages: No monkeys

I have just returned from a day trip to West midland safari park and I can honestly say that it was one of the best days out I have had in the UK by far.
I have 2 weeks off work and thought I would look at places to visit to de stress myself and just have a good old fun day out, and this was just the right place!

When we arrived there was a short queue to the entrance where you pay, took around 5 mins, the prices seem a little on the expensive side, £11.50 per adult, £10.50 per child/concession and under 3s are free but when you consider you can visit the park again this season for free its well worth the money.

We went around the safari adventure first, which takes you around a variety of animals, such as lions, tigers, giraffes, wolves, rhinos, elephants, camels, zebras, deers, the only thing I felt that was missing was monkeys, when I have been to other safari parks the monkeys have always been such an highlight, however there is so many different other animal you soon forget that there were no monkeys. The safari part was quite busy but there were 2 lanes available, one for cars to stop and take photos and admire the animals and the other to keep going if you wish, the safari takes an average of 1 hour and 30 mins, and you can go around as many times as you like. You can buy food to feed to animals like the camels, but I wasn't that brave.

We took a picnic with us so we didn't by any food there, but I did notice there were lots of small cafes offering a variety of foods, many being the usual fast food items such as burgers, pizza, chicken nuggets, chips, you get the picture!

After the safari we parked the car and walked into the rest of the park, where we found a cave with many sea creatures in, a reptile house, sea lions, creepy crawlies and a cave with free flying bats, believe me I have never ran so quick in my life when I suddenly felt a little flutter past my ear, I screamed all the way out, it was amusing to my other half if no one else.

There was a fairground which you needed to buy a wristband for, many rides, plenty to keep children entertained.

There were always plenty of safari staff around to help you if needed and the park was really clean and easy accessible for wheelchairs/pushchairs

Summary: Really good day out and very good value for money
