Advantages: Superb, action packed day out

Disadvantages: Can get busy in peak hours

Situated in Kidderminster, West Midlands (funnily enough!), England, there is so much to do that it will easily give you and the kids enjoyment for the whole day. It's easy to get to and fairly well signposted, with lots of car parking available.

The safari can get busy at peak times, especially on weekends, so maybe try a weekday and get there just before opening time, which is 10am.

There are 2 main parts to the park, the first one that you are greeted with is the Safari. Of course, you don't have to do the Safari first, you can come back to it later. The Safari has many, many animals including Lions, White Lions, Tigers, White tigers, White wallabies, Reindeer, Cheetahs, Rhinos, Elephants, Addax(!), Zebras, Wild dogs - the list goes on! You could easily spend a couple of hours driving around here, but there are shortcuts in case you want to make a sharp exit or if you need the loo rather sharpish!

Aside from the safari, there are numerous other animals to walk around and see and even interact with, such as the SeaQuarium, Reptile House, walk-through bats area, Hippo pool, feed and meet the animals, watch the Sea Lion show. Of course there's, the shop too so you'll be kept entertained all day!

You can buy food for certain animals at the entrance, and it's also worth mentioning that you get a free return ticket when you pay! So it's 2 for the price of 1, BARGAIN! Tickets are currently priced at £11.50 per adult, £10.50 for children, Senior citizens, Disabled and Students, whilst under 3's go free.

The 2nd area of interest is the park. This contains rides for all ages, for which you can pay something like 50p or £1 per ride, or £10.25 or £9.75 for unlimited rides for Adults and//or children respectively. There are also further concessions available on unlimited rides, as detailed on their website (www.wmsp.co.uk). There's water rides, scary rides, Zebra carousel, toddler rides - you name it! You can also play fair games and there's a nice train that can take you from one end of the park to the other.

There's so much to see and do that I'd definitely recommend WMSP for a day out. In fact it's one of my family's favourite days out and we've been there a lot more than once!

Oh yes, there's also a twilight safari where you can drive around at dusk to see the animals in their summer night glory. This is usually available in August. Haven't done that yet but it's another option!

GO THERE!

Summary: A top day out, the free return ticket offer makes it very good value for money!
