The printer has a uses a process called dye-sublimation which means it works by melting solid ink on to the paper which gives a smooth image that is lightfast. The photos are then laminated to protect them, the result is a photo that really looks like a photo. Having just delved into the world of digital photography & purchased my camera & esential extra's I realised my cheap & cheerful printer was not up to the job of printing my new masterpieces, so I went looking for the solution. Do I buy a better printer & waste my printer that does do exactly what I needed at the time of purchase only 6 months ago or look for a specialist photo printer, I chose the latter.
