Tigi Catwalk Camera Ready Shine Spray
by sparkle1004
I like my hair to look as shiny and healthy as possible so I am often buying products which enhance its shine. I am also a big fan of the TIGI products so I thought I would give Camera Ready a go.
What does the product do?
The product is labelled as being a shiner and a defrizzer. Both of which is needed by myself. It ... promises to leave the hair shinier, silkier and smelling completely delicious.
How do you use the product?
The product can be applied to hair that is damp or hair that is dry. You mist the product over the hair, holding it about 30cm from the hair and then dry or style as normal.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a bright blue plastic partly which is partially transparent and you can see the product inside. It has a pump action and it has catwalk written on the front in white writing. There is a tiny bit of extra information given on the back but this is mostly in a different language. The product costs around £5.99 to buy and it can be bought from most good hair dressers and also from a variety of websites.
Application and Performance
The product has quite a strong aroma to it. You can smell is strongly when you first use the product and you can smell on the hair long after use. It smells exactly like watermelon and after having had a bad experience with a watermelon vodka, the aroma does make me feel quite sick. The majority of people won't have this problem though and most people should get along with the aroma. Quite a small amount of the product is released when you push down on the dispenser and it comes out as a fine mist. The consistency of the product is quite a greasy one so you need to make sure that you don't hold the bottle too close to the hair to ensure it is dispensed evenly and to stop the hair from looking greasy.
You don't need to use much of the product in order to achieve the desired results and less is more with this product. The bottle is easy to hold and to control. The product doesn't make my hair tangled or make it hard like a hair spray sometimes can. My hair still feels silky and soft after use and it most definitely has a lovely shine to it both to the naked eye and also when I've had photographs taken. It doesn't make my hair feel unclean and it feels completely comfortable on the hair. I can't say it has any effect on the frizziness of my hair at all but I bought it mainly to make my hair shine so I don't mind this to much. The product is easily washed out using my usual shampoo.
Conclusion
All in all, this is a lovely product to leave the hair looking shiny and healthy. It smells nice, even though it evokes some bad memories for me! It doesn't tangle the hair or leave it looking greasy, providing that it is used correctly and the hair still feels soft and silky after use. I'm knocking a star off as I don't think it actually defrizzes my hair but other than that, this is a good product. Read the complete review |

Tigi Bed Head Colour Combat Dumb Blonde Conditioner
by ladyofcampfires
Whilst desperately trying to restore my hair back its healthy condition after bleaching it blonde I decided to buy this Colour Combat Dumb Blonde Conditioner by TIGI. I've been trying many different conditioning products of late, some of which have significantly improved the condition of my hair and others which haven't done much at all. ... Whilst I hadn't used any products from the Bed Head range myself before this I had heard good things about the range and this particular conditioner seemed to be aimed at hair exactly like mine so I decided to give it a try.
The conditioner can only bought in salons or from a number of different websites. A 200ml bottle will cost you about £12 from a salon but can be found for around £6 to £10 online. I purchased my bottle from Amazon where I paid £7 with free delivery. Whilst this cheaper price is still quite pricey for 200ml of conditioner I thought it'd be completely worth it if it lived up to its claims.
The conditioner comes in a plastic bottle which stands upside down on its clear plastic flip top lid. The top of the bottle is an explosion of colour which splashes of orange, purple, red and green all creating a pretty but messy background with the white Bed Head and TIGI logo. The product name is written across the middle of the bottle and we are also told this conditioner offers 'therapy' for 'highlighted or bleached blonde babes' and that it battles breakage and lifeless colour. The back of the bottle describes this product as 'a perfect, protecting blend of nourishing elements which balance bleached and multi-processed hair for an amazing, healthy look. Our colour lockdown technology helps safeguard against fading so colour tone stays pure and perky.'
In short, this sounded great. A conditioner specifically designed for repairing bleached blonde hair which also fights against fading meaning colouring can be done less regularly and hair can stay healthy! As I've said, if this lived up to those claims I'd be buying bottle after bottle even if it did cost £7!
Opening the flip top lid reveals an absolutely gorgeous tropical fruit scent. It's like peach, mango and pineapple mixed together to create an almost mouth watering juicy scent and the scent is clearly detectable the moment the lid opens. I was also very much hoping that the scent of this would linger in my hair for ages!
The conditioner itself is thick, creamy and a pale orange colour, rubbing it into my hair is an absolute pleasure with that fruity scent filling up my bathroom and nostrils! It applies evenly very easily and I don't find I need to use too much of it either to get a good lather on my short hair. Rinsing off is also as easy as you'd expect and it comes with no problems whatsoever leaving my hair feeling very soft whilst I'm doing so.
Up until this point I'm very happy with the conditioner as it seems to be doing a good job and smells really good. The problems, however, come after washing. Whilst my hair feels free of residue during the rinsing process it feels fully clogged up after drying. Just a mere hour after washing my hair it feels really greasy as though it's in need of a good wash once I've used this! It's impossible to manage and just sticks out all over the place. And, just to rub insult into injury, the overall condition of my hair is left in no better state either.
To begin with I thought maybe I'd just dropped something in my bath water which caused the greasiness of my hair. After using a couple more times in both baths and showers it became clear it was the conditioner and nothing else having this affect on my hair. I tried using much less thinking I was perhaps using too much, this made no difference either. In short, the conditioner is useless. It makes me want to immediately rewash my hair with something else and has no improvement on the dryness or brittleness of my hair. It's just rubbish. That lovely scent doesn't even linger!
I completely would not recommend this to anyone at all. In fact you'll probably get better results from a super market value range conditioner. Using the conditioner is really nice but the results are just horrid and I would describe this product as nothing more than a complete waste of money. £1 would be a rip off for this, £7 feels like I've been robbed. TIGI Styleshots Hi Def Curls Shampoo
by sparkle1004
As mentioned in the previous review, my hair is very frizzy and being neither straight nor curly, it is some wavy mess inbetween. It feels as if I spend the majority of my life straightening and blow drying my hair because if I leave it to dry naturally, it resembles a very messy birds nest. This is why I decided to buy the Bedhead ... Styleshots Hi Def Curls Shampoo and Conditioner.
What does the product do?
As the product is a shampoo, it's main aim is to cleanse your hair to leave it free from any impurities, grease or products. The shampoo promises to be 'ultra moisturising' and when hair is hydrated then it isn't frizzy. It claims to contain a shot of 'curl booster' which will leave your curls defined, softer, tamed and easy to manage.
How do you use the product?
The product should be used in the same way as you would use your usual shampoo. It is to be applied generously to damp hair and it should be massaged into the roots, length and ends of the hair. It is then to be rinsed out thoroughly and then followed up with a good conditioner. It should then be dried and styled in the usual way. I just left my hair to dry naturally.
Packaging and Price
The product is packaging in exactly the same way as the conditioner. It comes contained within pretty, shiny purple plastic bottle which has a pump dispenser on the top on which you push down on in order to release the product. It also comes contained within a smaller bottle which has a flip top lid on which it can stand and this is also purple. The large 750ml bottle will cost around £20 and the smaller bottle will cost around £10. The shampoo can be bought from most good hairdressers and from a variety of online websites.
Application
The shampoo has been given the same scent as the conditioner which is a combination of lemon tart and rhubard. It has the same sweetness as the conditioner, and again it is quite sickly, and it is just as strong. If you don't like the aroma of the conditioner, then you won't like this either. The product has a slightly thicker consistency than you would expect from a normal shampoo and you need to apply quite a few pumps of the product in order to feel like it's doing a good job. The shampoo does lather but not a lot but it still feels like it's coating and cleansing the hair well. It feels completely comfortable on the scalp and it hasn't caused me any irritations. It is easily rinsed out of the hair and it doesn't take long for it all to be washed out.
Performance
The aroma of the shampoo lingers in the hair long after it has dried so if you don't like the fragrance, there's no point in buying this one. My hair does feel really clean after use and all hair spray etc has been removed. It looks really fresh after use and it feels soft and bouncy. The frizziness is reduced and my waves are much more defined although this could be partly contributed to the conditioner. It is easier to manage and it isn't weighed down. It keeps my hair clean enough for me to only wash it every other day which is a real time saver for me.
Conclusion
All in all, this is a nice moisturising shampoo which when used along side the matching conditoner reduces the frizz in my hair and defines my waves. My hair is really clean and fresh after use and it feel soft and bouncy. Again, it makes you smell like a lemon tart which won't be to everyones liking but the results of the product make it worth while. Read the complete review |
