Tigi is a brand that was initially created by Tony & Guy for their hairdressers to use on their clients. The products were so well received that they were eventually released onto the market for the consumer to buy. They create colourful and fragrant products to solve just about every hair dilemma and that put an end to bad hair days. One of their more recent lines of products is the S Factor range and one product that is part of this collection is the Tigi S Factor Wonderful Tonight Overnight Treatment.

What does the product do?
The product is an intensive overnight treatment that helps to restore dry and damaged hair back to its former glory. Tigi claims that Wonderful Tonight is three times stronger than a conditioner and that it will strengthen your hair and leave it feeling soft and looking shiny. It also promises to reverse and repair any damage that has been caused to the hair by colouring and styling using heated appliances. My favourite thing about this product, and the main reason that I bought it, is that it promises to do all this using diamonds, pearls, champagne and cashmere. What girl wouldn't be won over by that!?

How does it work?
The treatment contains a Luxury Complex which is made up of many of a girl's best friends including Diamond dust, Crushed Pearls, Fizzy Champagne and Silky Cashmere. The crushed pearl within the product mimics the actions of protein and helps to strengthen the hair which prevents breakages and encourages healthy hair growth. The Diamond dust gives the hair a gorgeous glossy shine, as does the Cashmere while it also leaves the hair smooth and tamed so there should be a reduction in frizzy hair and fly away strands.

Champagne gives the hair a deep hydration which allows it to retain its elasticity and as it is an antioxidant, the liquid also helps to remove any dulling free radicals from the strands. Also included is Keravis which is a strengthening complex created using vegetable extracts and silicone which conditions the hair and reduces the formation of split ends and prevents the strands becoming brittle and snapping. Pineapple makes the hair extra clean, while Coconut flakes nourish and hydrate each strand and both of these ingredients are joined by Soy Milk and Jasmine Petals to make this a treat for both your hair and the senses.

How do you use the product?
As you can tell from the name of this product, it is a treatment that is to be applied to the hair just before you go to bed. You dispense a small amount of the product into your hair and smooth it onto your dry hair. It can be used as a targeted treatment on the ends or smoothed over all your locks if they are badly in need of some hydration and care. After massaging the product into your hair, you can leave it alone to work its magic.

I tend to wrap my hair in a towel because this prevents any of the treatment from getting on my face or pillow. When you wake up in the morning, you shampoo and condition your hair as normal and then admire your shiny new hair in the mirror. The treatment is not for daily use and TIGI recommend using the product twice monthly, although I tend to use it whenever my hair starts to look in bad condition.

Packaging and Price
The product comes in an expensive looking white bottle which is fairly plain in its design, which follows the usual pattern of the S Factor packaging. When you remove the silver lid, you will see a silver pump dispenser which releases the liquid when you push down on the top. The bottle has some writing on it but no bright colours or images.

I bought my treatment from Amazon and it costs me around £15. For that money, I got 100ml which is a fairly small amount especially if you intend to use it all over so it is an expensive product. The treatment is available from most good hair salons and it also available on many online websites but I haven't found it yet for much cheaper than £15

Extra thoughts
The packaging of this product is quite convenient as it only releases a tiny amount of treatment each time you push down on the dispenser. This allows you to easily control the amount that you are using and it also prevents you from squirting out too much and then some going to waste. The only downfall of the packaging is that I feel like there will a fair amount of product left in the bottle which I won't be able to access once it is coming to the end of its life which will be a waste.

When you dispense the product, you will see that it comes out as a rich white cream with quite a thick consistency. It comes with a delicious smell just like all Tigi products do but this one is a little more subtle than I am used to. It was still gorgeous and sweet which I assume is caused by the Jasmine Petals and Pineapple but because it is faint it shouldn't bother anyone enough to keep them awake at night.

I use this product much more regularly than the recommended twice monthly on the ends of my hair because they are in very bad condition at the moment. I colour and style my hair using heated appliances and it is well overdue a cut at the moment so it is like damage limitation. I use the treatment all over my hair once monthly so the bottle is not very long lasting in my experience but those whose hair is not in such a dire condition as mine will find the bottle lasting much longer.

When the product is on the hair, it doesn't feel overly heavy or make me feel greasy or unclean. The product mostly sinks into the hair but as I have lovely silk pillow, I put my hair in a towel just in case it stains but you don't have to do this. My hairdresser has suggested to me that if I only use a tiny amount of this product, then it will also double up as a leave in conditioner. Despite my hair being very dry and damaged, it still gets greasy very quickly so I haven't tried using it in this way yet.

The next morning, the product is washed out really easily by using your normal shampoo and conditioner. The benefits of the product are noticeable as soon as your hair is dry. My hair felt much, much softer instead of that usual roughness that I sometimes feel and I think it's because the treatment must have smoothed out the strands of my hair.

It also looks in a better condition and feels healthier. The ends don't look as dry and it is less frizzy and flyaway over all. I can control it better and it doesn't get tangled so easily and as a result I have seen fewer breakages and split ends. It feels much stronger and less hair comes out when I brush it so it has made a big difference to the condition of my hair. I'm not so sure about a diamond shine but it definitely looks glossier when I use the product all over my hair, instead of just at the ends.

All in all, this is a great intensive treatment for dry and damaged hair that gets to work as you sleep. It left my hair in a better condition and with fewer split ends, less frizziness and it is much more manageable. The bottle is small and expensive so for those who need to use an all over treatment regularly, you may want to consider something different. As a targeted treatment for dryness however, it is fantastic and it will make a noticeable difference to your hair.
