Advantages: Boosts the hair and smells delicious
Disadvantages: Doesn't have long lasting results
I don't like it when my hair goes flat and I do use plenty of different products in order to give my hair a bit of life. I really like TIGI products and so I thought I would give TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Roost Boost Spray.
What does the product do?
The product promises to lift the hair and add texture to it by thickening, smoothing and strengthening. It also claims to condition and nourish the hair using natural ingredients such as Lavender and Violet. It promises to give the hair a dramatic style with long lasting results. It also has a UV barrier to help to protect the hair from sun damage.
How do you use the product?
The product needs to be applied to the hair a section at a time. You need to hold the bottle about 10cm from the hair and spritz each section in much the same way as you would use a dry shampoo. I sometimes turn my head upside down too and spritz the underneath. The product should be used on damp hair and you can blow dry and style the hair in the usual way.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a tin which resembles a hair spray can. It is a rich purple colour that is mixed with black and a lid to protect the can from going off in your bag. There is some extra information about the product given using white writing. The product will cost you around £10 for 250ml of the spray.
Application
The product has a delicious aroma which I have come to expect from a TIGI product. It is deliciously fruity and sweet, and you can smell it from the very first moment that you spray the product. The spray has a light consistency that doesn't make the hair feel tacky, sticky or weighed down. The product is easy to use. You can still brush your hair with the product inside. The blow drying process is easy although the hair feels slightly thicker. The aroma of the product is still evident once the hair is dry.
Performance
The hair does look fuller and thicker, and the lift comes from the roots so the hair still has texture and movement. It feels completely comfortable on the hair and it doesn't make my hair feel tacky or sticky once it is dry, and it doesn't make me itch. My hair looks volumised but unfortunately, this doesn't last and it starts to go flat within a few hours. My hair is quite thick and heavy so it may hold more effectively and for longer in someone who has thin and fine hair. My hair does look shiny and feel soft, so the conditioning and nourishing ingredients must be doing the job, unlike other volumising products which can be powdery and dulling on the hair.
Conclusion
This product adds enough volume to make my hair look fuller and thicker for day wear but it's not enough for the evening or a night out, in my opinion. The results only last a few hours but they may last longer in hair that is thinner or finer. The smell of the product is delicious and remains on the hair. The spray has no adverse effects and it does improve the fullness of my hair a bit. I will happily continue to use the product but probably wouldn't repurchase the product as the results doesn't justify the price.

Summary: A root boosting spray which makes the hair look fuller... but not for long!
