Delonghi CT04A ... was very excited when I spotted this beautiful duck-egg blue toaster on sale and simply had to have one as it matched my kettle perfectly. Unfortunately my excitement was short lived as I returned home with my purchase (and a fresh loaf of bread to try it out). The first toaster was faulty so I dutifully drove all the way back to the shop (45 minute drive) and exchanged it for another one. To start off with it worked well, but as time went by it became less and less effective. I am now at the point (4 months later) where I need to turn the dials to the highest setting, wait for the bread to pop out and then put it in for another while before it turns into actual toa... Dualit Vario 20293 Toaster ... got this toaster as a (very generous) wedding present nearly five years ago. I am not very good at looking after toasters and have gone through 6 in the 10 years prior to my dualit. I believe at the time of purchase it was £80 which for a toaster is quite pricey. It does two slices at a time is it s only problem - it would have been nice (but a very excessive present) to have had four slots. However, It is robust and very well made - hence its exsistence in my kitchen. The timer dial in particular has a satisfying and well made click as it turns. At first glance you could be forgiven for mistaking it for an old style radio with its retro dials, basic buttons and all round classical appearance. With an aesthetical appeal such as this it would sit comfortably in the majority of kitchens regardless of their design.
