Ahh...the joys of another Argos Value Product. Will it live up to the standards of my Argos Value Kettle?
This item was purchased when I was buying all the essentials when I moved into my current flat. When I first moved in it was a week or two before I was able to get the cooker in therefore a toaster was needed as I couldn't grill any bread and when your cooking appliances are limited you will take what you can get!

As you can imagine the Argos Value 2 slice toaster isn't any major leap in the design frontier. It is white, white buttons, white dial and white sides...white. It has a dial on the side to adjust the toasting setting and a small cancel button. I won't lie and say it feels durable, it is very light and plastic, but you cannot expect too much for £4.69 really.

This item costs £4.69 on the Argos website. As you may have guessed it is available from Argos stores. You can check online if they have it in stock in a store near you or order it online.
*~* Your toast! *~*
Using the toaster is a bit of trial and error. You can test out the different settings but I've found that anytime, if you don't keep your eye on it, it will burn your toast! Or at least one half of it...and not toast the top of slightly taller slices of bread.
For the prices this toaster is decent, it does what you ask of it - turns bread into toast! However, there are a few downsides which let it down and would make e want to spent that bit extra on my next purchase.
The width of the spaces for the bread are quite thin, so you can't put bagels in there without a struggle, as well as some really thick breads...you might get it in but make sure you can get it back out! As I said with taller slices of bread the top half of your toast will go completely untoasted unless you turn it around half way through as the toaster is not wide enough to put the bread in lying on its side so to speak.
The biggest problem with this toaster is the amount of burnt toast! Swear it tries to trick you by popping u your wee slices of toast barely even a darker shade of white, so you pop it back down and seconds later the fire alarm is going off. My toaster is my worst offender for setting off the alarm.
I can't really say the dial makes a huge difference to how burnt your toast gets as I have given up footering with it, as depending on the bread also effect how quickly it will burn, I have found wholemeal bread tends to burn quicker than white.
Lastly...do not put potato scones in your toaster without supervision as it may set your toaster on fire. Oops!
*~* Overall *~*
If you are just looking for the basics then this really would suffice and considering I have had it for over a year and set it on fire and it still works, it's not bad for £4.69. However, if you did have a wee bit of extra cash at the time I would recommend going for a slightly more expensive (and well recommended ) toaster, if only to save the batteries in your smoke alarm.
Summary: Does the job and is very basic
