Advantages: Looks good . Makes toast

Disadvantages: but not good toast

This toaster has been sitting happily in our kitchen now for about 12 months and Im pleased to say it has er.....toasted stuff. Thats not to be derogatory, it just that it does its job pretty well without being spectacular.

****looks*****
Well weve got the matching kettle so thats a plus and they look very sleek and silver next to each other. I noticed another reviewer didnt like the large Delonghi brand name stamped across the side bit I think it loks quite nifty in an industrial sort of way. The silver is just sprayed on paint which looks a bit naff close up but from a distance it looks pretty good. The curved top looks very modern and the buttons and dials at the end dont distract.
****features*****
The toaster has 2 wide slots that can take a range of thicknesses. There is a 'browning' dial, a warming setting and an eject button (I nevver use it, just whack up the lever). Nothing special. At the base there is the underused crumb tray which is generally overflowing and spills toast dust every time I move the toaster. Not its fault. Lazy toast eater to blame. its not like the tray isn't big enough!

****the toast****
Hmmmmm. Is there a toaster which browns evenly all over to an exact specified shade. I dont think so and this certainly aint it. Rarely do you get a perfect piece of toast. Both sides are uneven and certainly, one side is always done more than another.
The thing that really bugs me is...well you remember the nice wide slots taking a range of thicknessess......they don't take a range of heights. When you stand Warburtons up in the slot, the top isn't done at all for about the top 2cm. When you lie the bread sideways in the slot it has to be squished in and ends up bent so it doesnt pop up. This leads to electrocution as you try to get the stuck toast out with a knife.
Well that makes it sound a bit rubbish doesn't it. It IS. Its a bit good as well though.
If you want a good looking toaster and don't mind paying around £30 get it. If you want good toast, dont!!!

Personally, good enough to be a good and a recommend, but only because the wife values looks over final product. Which is why she married me ;-)

Prolong this toaster and use the eject button as the spring loader in the slider will eventually go one day due to you pushing it upwards all the time. Thats how I broke my cousin's expensive toaster lol...
