Advantages: it toasts bread
Disadvantages: it looks rubbish after a while
I bought this toaster around 4 years ago and had it for around 2 years before replacing it with our current toaster, the very similar Russell Hobbs model.
This toaster was around £40 new and that was discounted from Argos. For £40 I not only expect it to toast but also do other things as well. The dials on the front allow you to select the degree of toastiness you want your toast to be. This is great as my partner likes his toast much more well done than mine. As you can have 2 slices at different toastiness this was ideal for us. The other buttons allow you to defrost bread and cancel.
Although this toaster looks on the picture to be heavy and solid metal it doesn't actually deliver in real life. It is made of thin stainless steel that almost looks like plastic and even the press down levels are plasticy and not of very good quality.
After around 9 months of having this toaster the buttons and outer area of the toaster had scratches on and generally it looked a little worn and scruffy. Because of this we decided to look into buying another, it took us around another year to find one we liked. This was due to the fact this one had looked so different on the picture to in real life.
I think this is a good toaster if you are just looking for something to toast bread in. If you want a toaster that stands on your worktop and looks stylish and expensive this probably isn't the toaster for you.
Overall, I think this would put us off buying delonghi products again unless we saw them in real life.
